Mark is a fantastic teacher. These classes were definitely challenging, although easier if you come in with lots of prep. You will work really hard but he really does everything he can to help you learn and do well. He is extremely knowledgeable about all genres of music. One of the best college teachers I've known - and I also teach college.

Anderman is a fantastic teacher that knows so much about music. You've got to be serious about music to succeed beyond entry level theory. He uses a lot of classical examples, but if you can apply his stuff to your own music it will be the difference of being a strong musician and a novice one

Great teacher but not a great grader. I went to class every single day at 8 am in the morning, did every homework assignment, participated in class and I got a B. But other than grading, he is an amazing teacher. He is great with theory and great on the guitar, he's not too bad on the piano either but he doesn't seem to think so.

He is very helpful with homework; although there is a LOT of homework, and it's very fast. You really have to have your thinking cap on during the class--always, always, always. But he does really try to help you understand what he's teaching.

I missed a lot of days, but still got by (but not by a great grade). I think if you never show up to class, except on days to take tests, and turn in all the homework, you can pull away with a B. I wouldn't recommend it. I am just saying it is possible.

Mark is an extremely passionate and fun teacher. He is not biased and shows many different approaches. On top of that he is a savvy bop guitarist and really breaks down improvisation. I would strongly recommend anyone whose interested in music to take one of his classes.

Tough class, you must put alot of work and effort into getting a high grade, but you do learn alot in it. This goes for all his theory classes. Very smart teacher, listens to alot of music, and i mean alot, he knows everything. If you talk to him outside of class you can learn alot. Get ready for hours of music homework though.

I really can't say enough good things about Mark. I learned so much just from the first semester MUS 2A/3A combination. He gives plenty of opportunity to ask questions and make sure his students understand the material. I absolutely look forward to any class taught by Mr. Anderman.
