He integrates real life applications to mathematics and succeeds in making Calculus tolerable. As long as you are on top of your homework and try to understand what all those derivatives are doing. . .you'll be alright. He doesn't really help you understand the material in his lectures so expect to go to the Math Table for that.

Best math class I have ever taken. Colgan teaches in a way that is interesting, practical, and fun. There are TONS of hands-on activities during the class, and I loved that. Even someone who hates math will love Investigations with Colgan.

May be the best teacher I have ever had. Taught in one semester what it took two to convey in high school- with half the stress and twice the clarity. Quirky sense of humor keeps class interesting. I was originally dreading college calculus- I was surprised by how simple it was under Colgan.
