Good class, easy grader. Lots of reading and writing (it is a graduate level history class after all), but nothing unreasonable. Recommended. Would take again.

Mark is objective and cooperative. I would highly recommend his classes. I took History 406, 479, & 251 with him. His classes force you to actively learn. I am considering the graduate program as a result of taking courses with Dr. Ellis and Dr. Ailes.

Very good teacher. He grades his essays pretty tough but if you go to class and take good notes you'll be fine. Take a class with him, it's well worth it!

His class was not easy by any means. You have to memorize a few hundred terms every test and he picks 50 of them to be on it. If you go to class and take good notes its not to bad.

Easiest A in a long time. Go to class and take some notes, you'll get an A. BTW, He has a book that is a printout of his lecture notes, made note-taking a lot easier and i wish more professors did this.

Take very thorough notes! He's a very good teacher! Funny, too. I took my laptop everyday bc I type faster than I write. Go to class every day. There are vocab words for every lecture- it'd be a good idea to study these, you will have to know them 100% for the tests. Take his class if you get a choice!

Good professor. Really knows what he's talking about and will help you if you ask. Studying terms and doing the reading is necessary to pass the class and the tests. Overall, Professor Ellis has a good sense of humor and will try to make the class fun!

Dr. Ellis will open up your eyes to the American West. He's done a ton of research in his life and knows what he is talking about. He is a younger guy and very laid back. He has a good connection with his students. I recommend him, but watch out with your writing... because he is an editor and is very strict when it comes to grading papers.

He was probably the best professor i ever had. The class is not easy tho, but study and go to class and you will be fine. Half of the tests are essay, and the other half is over the terms he gives you. Prepare a lot for the tests and you will be fine. You will learn a lot and enjoy this class.

He is a really good teacher, I don't get excited about history and he actually made me want to listen, so I think that is a really good thing. He is a good teacher, but I thought the tests were kind of difficult.

OMG! What a hottie. He is the most amazing teacher ever. He is willing to answer any questions that you have. He talks about vibrators for crying out loud! It is awesome! He has the best smile.. and long hair.. A nebraskan but still a California boy at heart!! How beautiful! But anyways... study the definitions, not the words, write your essays out, the more vocab you use the better. Super easy class.. oh and do your readings.. not too much is required! ÜÜ
