Mark cares about his students more than any professor I know. He's invested in the success of his students and considers their achievements his own. Which might sound like a ego thing, but it's honestly what makes him such an incredible mentor. You'll have a love hate relationship with this guy, but at the end of the day, you'll be so grateful.

Fantastic professor. Will kick your ass, but if you're looking to go into the design world, this man will prepare you as much as you can be prepared. I just got hired and my boss raves about my portfolio and was impressed by my design knowledge. An awesome guy who truly cares about his students behind his mask of sarcasm and cynicism.

Just finishing my first year as one of Mark's students and I have to say that I really love being part of the design program. Mark is the best teacher I've had at SU, and I can't imagine if he wasn't here. Please don't leave us! Ever! You really feel like you are learning and getting your monies worth.

Mark is one of the most involved, caring teachers available at SU. He will push you to succeed, and you will be grateful for what you learn from him. He's hard because he wants you to get it, and if you pay attention to craft as well as your design you'll do pretty well. Mark is the only reason I stayed for so long at SU. Take something with him.

Knows his stuff and he forces you to, as well. Not for the faint of heart, his classes are all about making you the best. He'll criticize, he'll yell, he'll swear, he may even call you names, but it is all with your best interest in mind. He's the best reason to attend SU. He acts like a basketball coach, but for graphic design; so go and win.

I agree--Mark is the only reason I'm at SU too; God knows my dorm room couldn't be any worse! Mark is my favorite teacher--he is pushy and will totally get mad at students, but no one minds because you know he just wants you to get btter, and you are lucky to be in the class. No prof knows as much about their area as he does. No contest.

Amazing. Best graphic design teacher out there. He may seem a bit intimidating at first, but he really isn't. He will be critical of your work, but he knows what is good, and accepts alternate opinions from the class. He also allows the students to give their input if they dont believe he is correct. I enjoy his teaching style and every time he gave me critical input, it made me better.
