It's not the professor, but the lab instructors. My instructor expected us all to know everything from the get-go, and only tells us things the day of a given lab. It's not easy to get her to understand some problems, probably since she isn't doing the lab itself then. Next time I get a lab, I want an instructor who knows what he/she's doing.

Dr. Freilich is a great teacher. He explains the concepts well. He is 7336always in his office for questions. He assigns homework on the connect site for each chapter as well as extra credit problems. He gives 3 quizzes, but drops your lowest grade. There are also 3 tests and a state-wide final covering chem 1 & 2. He has a great sense of humor.

On the 1st day of class, i got a 6 out of 17 on the pre-quiz. Freilich recommended that I drop & register for 1100. I didn't drop and I received a B. Don't let these ratings scare you, even if you completely suck at Chem(i got a D in high school CHem) you can pass this class if you just listen & study for the tests. It's a lot of math sometimes

Smart guy, but with a hokey, sometimes annoying sense of humor. Tests are not overly hard, but the class is. A good memory goes a long way in this class. This is probably the most info-dense class I took in four years. Bottom line, if you bomb the pre-quiz, go back to 1100 like he suggests. It helped me get a B with little effort.

The class is very hard but taking notes every class helps so incredibly much. Study, do your homework online, read over your notes/textbook, get used to his humor.. you'll do fine. He genuinely wants you to do well and understand the material. If you're confused, go to his office! He is incredible for one-on-one!

Excellent professor--explains the concepts clearly and if you don't understand in class, his office door is constantly open for questions just outside the classroom. His tests are hard, but if you read the book, do the practice problems and go to class, it's easy.

Freilich is the reason chem is a weeder class!! He bashes your confidence and thinks it's funny if everyone fails. If you are up for a challenge and just ignore his obnoxiousness, you will be okay. If you have a good background in chem or are prepared to work hard, you will do fine. Just laugh him off- he's actually kinda entertaining.

People are mistaken when they say he is hard, it is the class. I would definitely brush up on High School Chem before coming to class. He's nice, if you can get his odd sense of humor, but he does everything he can to help.

Took him during the summer. Had a love-hate relationship with this class. Freilich makes chem harder than it needs to be. He is a pretty good teacher and knows his stuff, but only take him if you are up for a challenge and can devote a lot of time to this class. I'm sure there are a lot better teachers than him.

Took this class during the summer. Chem is a very hard class and if you take it during the summer, be prepared to devote your life to it in order to succeed in the class! Freilich is a pretty good teacher. I felt like I learned a lot from him.

Dr. Freilich is a very tough teacher. He is very thorough with his teaching and expects you to read the material before coming to class. He also expects you to spend at least 12 hours per week outside class studying the material. It is difficult but if you apply yourself you can do well. He is a very knowledgeable teacher and you will learn.

dr freilich is a very intelligent guy but basically he has been teaching so long that he kind of expects the students to be able to do the calculations the first time you are shown. his exams are incrediably difficult and require much much more studying than just your notes from class. he does not use powerpoints and is not clear in lecture
