if you want to pass calculus don't take this teacher. his exams are hard as hell since he puts stuff on it that u never seen in class. i currently am taking a calc class at kcc with andrew pak and i am getting an A after failing gotays class and having to drop the class. dont take this teacher

Worst teacher to take. He doesn't make sense i am currently taking the class over with a different proffesor and calculus is understanding but when i had gotay its like he is speaking in a different language. His exams suck he gives you problems that you never even seen in your homework or even in the book. Stay far far away.

Do not take this professor because if you do, you will probably fail his class. He doesn't explain the work clearly and it's like he is in his own world. His exams are extremely hard. If you get like a 35%, that's probably good. that's how low his class average is. And he doesn't curve on exams so that makes it even worse. So don't take his class.

I wasn't supposed to have this teacher. He is the worst teacher that I ever had in my entire life. On his website, it said that he is a quantum physics major. Everything he explains is in physics terms. A T.A. of mine says he's the worst teacher in the math department. If you love math, this is for you; if not, please, DO NOT take this guy.

I signed up for a different teacher and ended up with him :/ first day, he lectured about physics theory and it was SO FAST!I asked him after class if his lectures are going to be that fast and he said, "Oh yes". Reading this site, I switched out. There were 20 people in that class and now, theres only 8. He curves but its not worth your time. RUN!

Lectures are difficult to follow because he tends to digress. Homework isn't mandatory, but that has nothing to do with the tests. I took calc 1 and most of my class dropped out after getting 40% or lower on the first exam. DO NOT ATTEMPT.

Signed up for calculus under a different professor, but ended up having him on the first day(not by choice). Switched out of his class the very next day, even though I had to rearrange several classes to do so. Seems to be the worst teacher- very indifferent. I would highly advise that you do everything you can to avoid taking him!

Ugh. He's just awful. I understood all the homework but once he handed out the tests, I bombed. The tests had absolutely nothing to do with anything he taught. Over half the class dropped out. I should've done that too.

Okay, I learned alot fro the book and the lectures. But....the tests must have come from another class and book because I did not recognize any of it! Even when he went over the tests after we got them back I still sat there and felt dumb! I figured if your going to teach it, test it. Not teach this and test that. If you like F's, take this prof!

Lectures were easy and you could follow along quite easily. Did many examples to help you do the homework. Tests, on the other hand, consisted of material that was not covered in lectures. Subjects that were covered in lectures were presented in a whole new way that was never taught. STAY AWAY!!!!

Tests cover things not in the book, not in the homework, and not covered in class. I guess you are just supposed to read his mind. Very, very hard tests, and very, very hard random quizes. Homework counts for nothing. Gotay <=> Stay Away.

This class is far too difficult for a calc 1 class. He doesnt curve tests, and the average grade is usually around 40%. He passes VERY few students, far far less than the top half. He is willing to help you but that does not make up for the difficulty of his tests... dont take this class!
