Comment:
Murphy's philosophy class was very dry. Lots of reading to be done beforehand. Grading is quite straightforward though. Multiple choice quizzes and exams, no term papers either. She tries her best to make the material interesting for students, but it's an uphill battle to get people to relate to Socrates and Descartes.

The worst professor I've ever had. She cancels class for no reason, rambles, her lectures have no point, she doesn't explain the readings, she doesn't actually teach anything, she doesn't review for the midterm of the final, she doesn't respect opinions that go against her own, and she's rude. Do not take unless you have to.

Does not follow the syllabus, rambles the entire class, hard to follow, does NOT use the book for class, and very poor at helping students outside of class, her availability is non existent in person.

She reads from the textbook as "lectures" and is never prepared for class. Discussions are a joke and she knows nothing about business, only philosophy. Forgets to take attendance most of the time. Only take if you must.

Business, Society, and Ethics. Boring, pointless material. But this class is not hard in terms of workload. It was kind of tough on the fact that there really was not much margin for error. She is a nice lady but can be testy at times. The class material is just lame. A decent option if you need to take Business, Society, and Ethics.

Its pretty bad when you know you made a mistake and don't own up to it as a Philosophy teacher. All the students knew she was being weird when she was telling students that missed a class that they also missed a quiz that never happened. She is average, gets upset when students try to ask questions on materials missed, tells another student help them

She asks students 4 ride home, asks annoying questions about computers almost every week, self conscious about inability 2 explain some concepts clearly, let frequently absent students bother her, focuses much on student evaluations, she could be so much better if didn't involve herself in these things.

I had Patricia Murphy for Moral Philosophy. She is great! Not an easy A but definitely an easy A-. There was a Mid-Term (open book, open note, open laptop). There was one paper due by the end of the semester (if you hand it in early she will edit it entirely). She gives you a clear review for the final. Take her. Great human being

I very much enjoy this class. if you pay attention, read the required texts and take notes its an easy A. she is very willingly to review as much as possible and even takes appointments if your unclear. i took all required philosophy courses with her and that was by choice after the first. highly recommend her.

Professor Murphy loves Philosophy but does not know how to teach it. She cannot explain anything without loosing her point. Also, she hates absence, lateness, outspokenness, or anything at that matter. She does not care or understand personal life issues. If you are late or absent to one of her class without letting her know she will be hard on you

She allowed the class to get out of control, but expects students to understand the material. I did not feel like she came remotely to accomplishing any of her stated goals in teh syllabus. Ask lots of questions specifically about the material and stay away from irrelevant discussions. She was definitely not one of my favorites.

She is a very very intelligent teacher. Not an easy A course, but i would take it. You will learn A LOT!!!!! great class to take, but unfortunately you have to take 3 philosophies, which i personally find absolutely rediculous unless it is your majo
