Mark Harris Michael Scott from the Office. At first, you're like, oh my god, this guy is terrible. But then, after a while, you begin to realize he's actually a great professor. He has a sense of humor and a big heart. If you're at college to actually LEARN; take his class. You learn if you pay attention, just like any other class.

I would not take another one of his classes. I do think he is very intelligent and he would always say something inspirational at the beginning of class which was nice. I thought he was a nice guy but his lectures were terribly boring and his tests are hard. There was optional homework but I had to teach myself everything.

Professor Harris is one of the best math teacher I have come across at MCC. He lets you retake 1 test last week of class. His tests are clear cut no surprises. I followed along with the book and I did well. I thought he was really great. He gives practice tests before each test that look like the real thing. Would totally take him again!

The worst teacher I have ever had. If you take this class, you are your own teacher. The only benefit is that his pre-tests that he gives are exactly like the test. He's incredibly boring, He does examples on the board and never gives you a chance to try them for yourself. Do yourself a favor and don't take this class with him.

Overall, I enjoyed having professor Harris as my Applied Calculus teacher. His humor was dry, but very funny. If you ever need help on anything, do not hesitate to ask and just keep bugging him until you get the answer you want. He takes notice of hard work ethic and will grow to like you more if your work is consistent. I loved him

He was very good gave you as much time as needed. He also did many examples so you have a few points to look from. Every now and again he would talk about his person life to keep people awake and laughing. Funny professor

Easily one of my favorite classes/professors so far. I found the class pretty easy, but I'm rather "mathematically minded." He is extremely clear, helpful, and uses real-life experiences to explain the material. He tells his students to "work smart" instead of memorise the material and repeat it on the tests/exams. Highly recommended.

Make sure you can do the practice tests and the actual test is essentially the same thing. There was a test where the questions were literally the same as the practice exam - didn't even change the numbers. He's funny, serious and all around a good professor.

He makes you work for your grade, but you'll understand the material better as a result. I enjoy his teacher style as well. He's big on using the correct notation in your answers.

Very no-nonsense, will not hold your hand & does not hand out a note packet, he is old-school and expects you to take notes. Very knowledgeable & answers questions thoroughly. Your grade is based only on exams, no homework, he makes that clear at the start. Gives helpful practice tests. Recommended if you are mature enough to work independently.

If you put in the work it will be an easy A. He explains concepts thoroughly and is always available after class for clarification. He doesn't take nonsense excuses and expects you to put in the time, which I think is reasonable. Good guy, interested in student's success.

I have him currently in PreCal and he's not helpful at all. He doesn't take homework grades OR quizzes. You're grade comes from 5tests plus final. His structure is not thorough either. I do not recommend him.

It's only been one day; we've gone thru 3 sections and I've learned nothing. What he does write on the board is not helpful and difficult to follow because he jumps all over the board. He says he doesn't hold student's hands thru the class, but he sure doesn't teach them either. I get that, but the least he could do is teach us how do the problems.

Harris only has a few grades wich is great if you are a good test taker as they are all tests.Students can walk in late and be major distrations but Harris allowsit even after the entire class addressed it as a distraction.Does not prepare you for a test.Book problems do not correlate with test problems in how they are asked.

Harris is a great prof if you pay attention in class and dont have a problem learning some one your own. He usually went over most of the work in class but you have to do the bookwork to be prepared for tests. Very helpful if you see him outside of class.

So at first I hated him. He speaks in a monotone voice and just writes on the board all class.. it gets old fast especially in an 80 minute class. But by the end of the semester he had somehow grown on me. He is a sweet guy and means well. Not hard to pass it's just hard to sit through but the best part is he doesn't care about attendance!
