DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. SAVE YOUR SELF. Be prepared to write 15,000 words or more althought GRW only is required 6k. Gives feedback in beginning of class then stops at week two. Would give me a 98% with no feedback or explanation for 98%. A fall or spring could be better than my 6 week class, still though. Lots of reading and writing.

This was a ton of work for a 3000 level lit course. No one is exaggerating about the word count or this professor. He's nice and gives good feedback, but he gave me a 0 on an assignment I turned in. He corrected his mistake, but even with feedback his grading seems arbitrary, and with this amount of work, an A just isn't worth it.

Lots of assignments, little time in between. He would never give more than a 99% on my discussion posts, and doesn't provide clear feedback. I tried to incorporate his feedback and my grade dropped massively. No rubrics and no clear criteria to folllow. Insisted I didn't submit the work when I did. 100% AWFUL

do not take this course over 6 weeks. i repeat: do not take this course over 6 weeks, especially if you are taking 2 others. i am no longer human. i am pure text. after taking kamrath's class, i have become textual evidence.

For a 3000 level course this is simply too much. I would approximate that I've written about 15000 words over the past six weeks, 2 thousand of which were for the final exam itself. There are much easier ways to get this credit. Save your energy for your core classes

Get ready to write for this class. There is a weekly discussion post and an almost bi-weekly paper.(someone said 10,000 words, not a joke). None of it is necessarily hard, the amount is a bit much if you have more than school going on. It is extremely do-able though. I put in the most time on this class, but I also learned the most in this class.

DO. NOT. TAKE. THIS. PROFESSOR. I love to write but this class was so much. He is extremely boring. Has not conceptual thoughts about art or literature. He's just not what an english teacher should be. NOT TO MENTION THE COURSE LOAD. Weekly essays and discussion posts about content he doesn't even go over in class. So dull. Avoid him!

A very intelligent individual but a truly awful professor. The class itself was not hard and the work load was reasonable for an introductory graduate course. However, his instructions are vague and his grading even more of a mystery. If he is representative of the graduate faculty, it'll be a long two years. I would not recommend him.

I desperately wanted to enjoy his class, but he was rude, not understanding, and his lectures were incredibly boring. It's honestly a stretch to call this a literature class since the entire class is based off of his opinion and his opinion alone. Attendance is mandatory for this reason. The grading was ridiculous and unclear. DO NOT TAKE!

Online. There is a great deal of reading and writing without clear rubrics. Be prepared to receive grades without knowing why you earned them. He lets you know that it is Gordon rule and should be 6000 but it ends up being 10000! It's a bit overkill. You will spend most of your time focusing on this class.

I despised this class because he made it like a high school American History class. Seriously? Another thing that irked me was when he wasn't in class, we had a substitute and watched a movie. Really? Cancel the class and let the class go! We're more than students here. I don't recommend him at all. I definitely tried my hardest in this class

This instructor is a classic example of how being overly educated is a detriment to being a quality teacher. I received an A in the course, but did so despite his condescending attitude, impossible grading standards, and overall negativity. If you are an undergraduate, run away. If you are a graduate student, avoid taking 5009 with him at all cost.

Dr. Kamrath has very open office hours, so if you ever need help, he's always there in Colbourn Hall. He does check attendance, so make sure you arrive on time to class. He expects nothing less than the best on every assignment. If you're interested in learning more about UCF programs and opportunities, then this is the class for you.

He focuses more on the religious views than the diction and development of writing throughout the ages. I learned more about religion and history than literature. Attendance is mandatory. He is nice, demanding, and makes sure you know what is due before leaving class. Pay attention, follow directions, and work hard to get an A. Overall, a good prof

He may be a harsh grader who expects A LOT out of his students but I really went away from his classes well-informed. He's a great teacher, but is extremely picky about participation and tiny details that becomes overwhelming. Expect to put a lot of work into his class!

He's a traditional guy. He's tough, and he doesn't like cell phones/laptops because he's not an idiot and knows you aren't paying attention. I happen to be friends with all three of his kids. He's a great guy, and extremely smart. Be engaged in his class. Ask questions, and do the assignments. Take thorough notes in his class, they WILL be on his test. It's really not that bad, but you are going to have to do some work to get the A.

I really enjoyed this class. Be warned, however: if you want an easy A, this is not the class for you. Aside from that, Dr. Kamrath is very enthusiastic, clear, and up-front about what he wants from you as a student. He grades somewhat harshly, but if you put in the work, you'll get the grades you want. I highly recommend him!
