Love love love this woman. Very fair grader. Very manageable workload. Gives good feedback, and cares about you as a student. You do NOT need to be a great writer for Comp, you just need to put in effort. Great lectures focused on current events. Go to class, do your work, dont use your phone.

polites was the best . you need the book in the beginning for the readings but you could easily take pictures of someone else's and get by. She's so helpful and will always find an article on her own time to just send to you if you need it. you get to write about whatever you want and she's specific on what she wants yet doesn't grade too tough

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. If you do not take this Professor, you will miss out. She literally made me ENJOY writing. The class is always active and engaging. She makes it enjoyable and is very laid back. Just do your assignments and she will help you through any struggles or concerns. Bottom-line, she's awesome. Take her.

Had her for Comp 2. Very nice woman, and she knew quite a bit about everything going on in the world past and present. She helped me learn to write somewhat better, and was a fairly easy grader. Very hard to get an A in the class though.

She is the greatest teacher i have ever had. She is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable. She allows you to select your own topic on all of the papers. She knows about every subject that was selected by a student and knows a lot about it too. I would recommend her over any other COMP teacher.

i skipped class a couple of times and she worked with me to catch me up and didn't penalize me at all, she was a fair grader and tries to make the essays easy for you. she let us out of class early ever week and did assign easy readers each week that you had to respond too. overall easy course

I really like Prof. Polites. She is very sweet. Some students wrongly assume that she is a pushover but she is not. She is very helpful with all papers and she is understanding of our generation. You actually talk about interesting things in the class as well.

One of the best teachers ive ever had. shes pretty easy, but not a pushover and very fair. she is extremely helpful, and she likes everyone. she actually makes you a better writer too. always lets class out early (i had her at night-never went past 830). class is fun to be in b/c you discuss current events, etc. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
