Comment:

He was a great guy, but his class was extremely difficult. He treats the class as if everyone is a biology major. I attended most classes, recorded heavy notes, used Quizlet, and still failed the tests. The lab quizzes were difficult too. The lectures were extremely boring and the tests were very difficult and confusing.

The open stax project didnt teach me anything about DNA. I failed his class with a D because his tests are so confusing and makes no since with the material he taught us in class. He is a great guy but I would not recommend taking him for biology, especially if you take the short session course.

Terrible!!! I had to drop the class My grades were terrible. The labs are really hard and the lab quizzes are impossible. Make sure your lab partner cares because if they dont youll have a hard time.

Hes a great guy 10/10. Lecture can be a little long and hard to keep up with so be prepared but the most difficult thing were the test. EXTREMELY hard. No matter how hard I studied the PowerPoints and made quizlets I still struggled. But the end of the semester project helps bring your grade up so look forward to that

Knauss is an okay professor. His tests are not too terribly hard as long as you study the powerpoints. He gives lab quizzes which you must study for or you will fail them. Pretty chill teacher and seems like he wants you to do well. The only thing that bugged me is how long his lectures are and how he talked to himself while lecturing.

Dr. Knauss is a cool guy, but his 1010 class was ridiculous. If you want an A, dedicate your entire semester to this class. I'm a business major just trying to satisfy my requirements, unfortunately, he taught the class like we were all Bio majors. The lab is easy and quizzes are manageable (study or fail). Take summer course, it's easier.

Comment:

Took Dr. Knauss for 2107K and 2190 (nutrition), and his lectures were very well done. I would recommend him for sure, he makes you learn. It helps to record his lectures for sure, his tests are difficult if you don't study or come to class. It was a surprise to learn of the amount of written papers in the nutrition class, but he is an easy grader.

Lab is hard, the work in lab easy but lab quizzes are super hard. Tests aren't too bad. Final term Paper was brutal, I don't think he realized he put 5 pages single spaced! And that was the minimum requirement for minimum points! I say he does have favorites though and will favor them, if I was only of them..

Dr. K is a great professor, his lectures are very informative, but man his tests are HARD. You will do a lot of critical thinking. Really study the powerpoint slides. Be prepared to do a big project at the end of the semester. It includes two 5 page papers and a small DNA assignment.

Dr. K is the best professor of whom i have ever had the privilege of learning. His lectures are fun, but his tests are tough. He makes you work for your grade and expects critical thinking. Looking for an easy class? Not this one. If you are a serious student looking to actually learn, Dr. K. Is the best professor for you.

Hearing Nutrition, you would think the course would be easy but it's otherwise! The whole class failed the first test, no curve! On the second test most of the class failed, once again no curve! If you have to take this course then Knauss is the way to go. His tests are extremely difficult, which i should be studying for one right now. anyway, study for the test and review lab notes for lab quizes. he is helpful and will help you without question.

He is an excellent teacher. He knows his material in and out. I took the major's biology. The material isn't that hard, but tests are super tough. The book is very important, but his lecture should be your life. I highly recommend recording him. You cannot ask any questions during lecture, but he will answer questions in his office.

Very smart man, but the tests are hard. Memorize the notes, which I could not do. Labs are fun and lab quizzes aren't terrible hard, just study the day before.One research paper that is an important for your grade, do well on it.

His lecture is awesome, probably the best professor i've ever had in that respect. lab quizzes are easy if you study what he tells you is on it. His test suck, they are all multiple choice, but he is a firm believer in the most correct answer, most questions are tricky, if he ask himself a rhetorical question in class thats going to be on the test.

AWESOME teacher!! hes very cut and dry about the material, but hes funny! Loved his biology 1010 class and I am taking another biology this semester with him! His test are VERY hard and tricky so STUDY, but overall I highly recommend him!

Dr.Knauss is an excellent teacher, not sure why I heard in the past that he wasn't. I'll be taking him again and I can't wait. He have made me love Biology again after having a horrible teacher. He actually teaches and cares about getting the subject across by making relatable and funny examples. You can see the passion in his teaching!
