I took Mark's ENG204 class this semester, and loved it. I didn't like the material, but he tried his best to make it as interesting as possible. He is very understanding, and is more than willing to help if you reach out to him. You can tell he is very passionate about English. If you want to improve as a writer, take his class you won't regret it

I took Professor Montgomery's creative writing class and it was an amazing experience. One of the really great things about taking this class was that not only can Professor Montgomery teach about story telling, he is a story teller who's enthusiasm makes you realize that you have stories to too. He's very approachable and easy to talk to.

Comment:

Montgomery is a great professor and has a story for just about everything. He is very helpful in and outside of class and seems to genuinely care about his students. He sometimes takes a while to grade things and the grading criteria isn't always clear, but if you follow the syllabus and keep up with the readings, you'll do just fine.

Dr. Montgomery is a good choice for an english professor if you don't mind waiting awhile to get papers back or the sometimes unorganized class schedule. He is an extremely nice guy and incredibly encouraging. His lectures are very funny and you can learn a lot just from the stories he tells in class.

Great teacher! By far my favorite CCC English Prof. He is very clear, concise, helpful. There is quite a bit of writing involved, but he tells you exactly what he expects and gives a clear syllabus. Keep up in class and you'll do great. He has intersting stories and great personality!!! I will be taking his English for my last year!

One of the best professors I've had at CCC. Very attentive and constructive toward his students. Knows when to be funny and when to be serious, keeps class interesting and light-hearted. Very passionate about literature, and has an influence on the students' own interest level in the material. Makes me wish I was taking more English classes.

I took Mark's American Lit. 1 & 2 and creative writing a while back. He's a passionate, fearless professor and we're lucky to have him in CNY. If you like to think and want to improve your writing, he's your guy. If you want to slide through with little effort, I would choose another class.

Always late for class. A lot of reading. Not very compassionate. Does not keep office hours. Tough when it comes to grading but does give opportunity for rewrites. Several people dropped his class. Choose a different professor!
