brilliantly funny which keeps our interest and so makes us learn more. very clear. will see you forever in his office to help you. challenged preconceived ideas about environmental econ which a lot of students just don't like, but i liked it - learned a lot!

I find his jokes during class very annoying. I feel like wasting my time in his class. At the end of the semester, I looked back at my notebook to review and all I saw were stupid jokes! Plus, we got five class periods cancelled per semester for no important reason. No dedicated professor would do that. Highly recommend against taking.

His grading is not fair. I know a guy who got an obvious mistake and he didn't take off points from his exam. The only reason: he's his favorite student. He grades very carelessly. Once, he took off 20 points from my friend's exam because he didn't look carefully enough while grading to see the answers.

Monty is not an easy prof, but he is incredibly energetic, funny, and accessible. He makes a lot of mistakes in class, but sometimes this means we all have to work through a problem together. His problem sets are tough, as well as his exams. In office hours he is really helpful. Great prof if you're up to the challenge.

Very clear teacher. Explains everything and doesn't try to be tricky about anything. And what an amazing person! I had a hard semester when I took his class and he was very compassionate and helpful. Take the class, it's great!

Energetic guy, great sense of humor, has ADD, can't explain things, tests don't make sense, confusing. An 8:00 class with him will keep you awake and laughing, but the tests are frustrating and the grade won't match your effort.
