Worst class I took this semester. Only professor who ever gave me bad grades for not answering subjective questions the way he thought they should be answered. Has no desire to see his students succeed, doesn't answer emails, and lectures help in no way to prepare you for any of the quizzes or tests. Everyone I know in the class hates it.

You read three books (not all at once). You have a quiz every thursday and when theres an exam, its on tuesday. You dont need to show up to the lectures, but beware for some lecture questions in the quizzes . Lecture is extremely boring, but the 2/3 books are interesting to read.

I loved this class! Although not a CJS major, he got me interested in the subject. His lectures are interesting and he runs his class in a straight-forward way. You always know what to expect and if you do the reading and go to class, you will get an A or B. Highly recommend.

You will do good in the class as long as you read. The lectures are interesting and he has a great personality! He seems caring and he's pretty laid-back, overall a great Gen-Ed.

I had a hard time in this class. I'll admit, it was partly my fault because of health issues, but this class was a nightmare the rest of the semester. Dr. Weisheit is very hard to get into contact to over email. His lectures are easy to follow - but we go over the same material every single class so it all feels very pointless. Enjoyed some of it.

Ralph is the sweetest professor Ive had so far. Hes a goofy guy who makes you laugh while you learn. Hes very smart, and starts class with news articles that connect with lecture which is super interesting. All of the tests are based off of the books you read in class, all of which there are quizlets for. 10/10 would recommend him.

I gotta say this dude is a genius. He co-authored a book about everything in lecture, and then required students to buy it for the course. Brilliant business idea. He was also chill and had a good sense of humor. He clearly knew what he was doing. I first thought he was a grumpy old man, but he's super cool! Plus I saw him walking a tiny yorkie :)

Tests are on the books he assigns so lecture isn't required. There are quizes each week, though, and the days he chooses to put them on aren't the same week to week. Lectures are something I look forward to in my day.

Tests are over books that are irrelevant to the course. He does not lecture from the books.

Took this class as a basic gen ed my first semester of college. 3 cheap books he had us purchase which was what all the tests were based on. Also, weekly quizzes based on his lecture material from the previous week. Tests aren't bad at all as long as you read the books and utilize the study guides that are on the course website.

Easiest criminal justice I have ever taken. If you show up and take notes, you will pass this class with flying colors. He gives you the questions to the exams and the exam is the exact same as the study guide. You have to write a short response paper every week but he basically just hands out 100%.

I took CJS102 as a gen ed this year and I am so thankful I did. Ralph's class was a great edition to my day and I enjoyed listening to him lecture. Tests are easy if you read the books provided and there is a "pop" quiz once a week over lecture material. It's really not hard if you just do what he asks of you. Highly recommend!

Ralph is the best teacher I have had at ISU!! There are three books, 2 of them are very easy/interesting. The third is a book he wrote which is kind of boring, but the tests on them are super easy if you do the reading. He gives weekly quizzes on the notes and reading from the previous week. Easy A if you show up and read the books!! Great class!

Expect to read a ton. The lectures are almost meaningless except for the weekly quizzes he gives on Thursdays. The books are so boring and stupid. They almost have nothing to do with the class expect for the book he wrote. He is a good man and is very intellectual about CJS. It was an ok class for me. Interesting but could get boring at times

Great professor and really knows the material, but tests are extremely difficult. There's a lot of reading required for this class and all the exams are based on the reading so there's no way around it. Gives weekly quizzes based on readings and lecture which are hard as well. Study a lot and you could get a good grade but it wasn't my top priority

He is an awesome professor! If you go to class and take notes his tests are pretty easy. He doesn't try to trick you. He is very knowledgeable and is distinguished. He is great at working with you if you need help. He offers an easy extra credit assignment that boosts your grade a lot. This class is very interesting, one of my favorites so far!
