most boring prof I have ever had. he only writes on a chalk board and you have to copy everything down including complex molecules and mechanisms which he often enough makes errors drawing. his first test is a piece of cake, second test was okay, and as for the final it is extremely unclear what is expected to be known, or what will be tested.

Great professor all around. Had a really relaxed pace compared to other professors in the same major. Going from being hit in the head with a sledgehammer repeatedly in 331 to a laid back class like his was heavenly. Number one tip for success: if he writes it down on the board you better write it down in your notes.

Mark is an amazing prof, he is super nice and loves the material that he is teaching. He goes at a much slower pace than any science class I have ever taken. there is probably 3-5 pages of notes per lecture total and his exams are completely based off those notes. He only writes stuff on the board so you gotta copy that

Dr. Paetzel was the nicest prof ever! He really cared about his students and really wanted his students to do well. The material wasn't too difficult, but make sure you attend lecture and take good notes. Review the lecture objectives and your notes from lectures before exams and you'll do fine!

I loved this course and I think mostly because Dr. Paetzel was so interested in the material that it made me really enjoy his lectures. His exams are based on the lecture material and going to class is highly suggested as he often directs you to the key concepts to study. The exams & problem sets are very fair. Highly suggest you take this class!

He is the nicest prof I have ever met during my university years. Dr P is extremely passionate about protein studies and that's awesome. One comment: His extreme interest passion level equals his niceness which also equals his INABILITY to teach.

He is a really nice person and extremely approachable. Sometimes the material was a bit boring but he did try to make it interesting. The exams are very fair and straight from the notes. Read the papers he tells you to and you'll ace the exam. If you're going to take this class, take it with him.

He is SUCH a nice person, a sweetheart! As a prof, he explains things well but it's so hard to listen because the material is very dry...

He is a terrible prof. Not only that, he isn't very understanding of his students, kind of indifferent to them like they are part of an experiment he doesn't really care about? I honestly think profs like him shouldn't be allowed to teach, as having basic social skills should be a requirement to be a professor.

He is seriously the WORST PROF EVER! He can't even keep the class' attention for more than 1 minute. After the first minute, half the class is already gone, and the other half has fallen asleep. He is completely out of touch with his students and it's clear he doesn't get out of his lab much, and maybe he should just stay there to save all of us?

He likes proteins so much. Tutorial are very helpful. He got a great team of TAs. Overall, he is a good prof.

Can't blame the guy for having boring lectures. I mean there really is no other way to talk in an interesting way about the stuff we go through. Hes a nice guy and puts in a bit of dry humor. Exams were rather hard and went into great detail. Textbook was really helpful in this class.

His first time teaching 222, didnt know how to make the first exam, but got better after. His lec are extremely boring, have to read the slide before talking most of the time. Be sure to study the notes well and the previous mts. His questions are straight of the notes, and he will a few questions that go into more depth. He loves his bonds.

Class was simple enough, however the material is extremely boring. His exams are straight forward and out of the notes. Although this is an easy class, if you have no interest in proteins DO NOT TAKE IT. You will find studying to be a very brutal chore.

I agree with the comment below. He is extremely disorganized, unprepared and hard to follow this semester. The notes are never updated and usually people have no idea what is going on in class. Some class material is extremely repetitive and he skips over a lot of the other stuff.
