He is the WORSE professor in history!! Please I warn you DO NOT take his class! He doesn't give enough time to do quizzes. He only gave us 3 minutes for an 8 question quiz. He was not specific about what he wanted on assignments. He had different times and dates for the same assignment. He was just a horrible professor to work with.

Avoid this guy if you can. He's an older professor. Can't be fired and is cashing in. He doesn't care. He changed the final date to a Friday instead of a Monday so that he could have the weekend off. Then when I asked for an extension he got snippy with me. Plus his quizzes are crazy. Very confusing. Very unclear. There is no way to pass them.

BY FAR the absolute WORST professor I've ever had in my 8 years of college. EVER. Does not admit to his mistakes, tests contain grammatical errors and information that is not in the chapters/PowerPoints/readings/etc., gives an unreasonable amount of time in which to complete these exams, and has a severe lack of concern for students. AVOID HIM!!!!!

Uses examples in practice tests and exams that are the same with different answers. So confusing, and gives the absolute minimum to help you. It's a terrible course and I do not recommend.

Worst professor I have ever had in my life. I received A's on almost every assignment in his class and then on the final paper he failed me and he said it was simply because of my "word choice" even though all of my content was correct. Highly recommend never taking this man.

His grading criteria was very hard to understand. Tests were due Sunday nights and they were only opened for a few hours, which was hard to accommodate sometimes. He was very particular about emails and titles for everything which was annoying at times. Overall though it was a really easy class.

The only huge complaint I have about him is that he refused to move tests from Sunday nights. Other than that I didn't have any major problems. Do the homeworks and quizzes ahead of time and you really won't have any work to do for this class.

Dr. Barker is tenured and does not care about the quality of his teaching. Examples of assignments were inconsistent with directions/grading rubrics. 50 paragraph-form final exam Q's centered on Harry Potter (in a graduate program) had to be completed in 25 minutes. Finally, he demands papers formatted in APA ***2010***. Avoid him at all costs.

Literally the worst professor I've ever had at IUP. Not helpful, doesn't care, and will test you on things that "aren't in the book, aren't in the lecture. You should just know it." AVOID THIS MAN AT ALL COSTS!

I am a doctorate student and I took this class as an elective (online). I consider myself a good writer ( I have managed to graduate with a masters). However, this crazy man told me I should see the writting center, because he didn't agree with my "word choice". I have never felt so helpless in a class. AVOID!

Very rude and not helpful. I tried to complete work ahead of time due to having a baby the first week of class and he would not allow me to. He almost didn't allow me to complete a project that was due when I was in the hospital.

Expect to have two tests every class, essays on every exam (he'll tell you the grading criteria after you've failed), and plan on having your written assignment drop one or two letter grades for "word choice." He's also lowered the bar for dressing professionally - a polo with sweatpants and a gray ponytail.

Take ANY of the other EDSP 477 professors before you take this one. I had this class as a night class and not only did we have at least 2 quizzes every class, but the whole lecture was a complete waste of time and you basically teach yourself from the book. Exams-15 multiple choice and he chooses 1 essay out of a possible 9 you must memorize.

Completely rude & his class is the biggest waste of time. I work my but off for no reason. I learn absolutely nothing from him. Do yourself a favor & take someone else. Dr. Barker is wonderful! He is entertaining. He knows his stuff backwards and forwards. He may offend students, probably because he is a male chauvinist pig, but damn if he doesn't go out of his way to help you, IF you ask for help!
