He is very nice. I don't understand why so many people don't like him on rate my professor. He is smart and good at teaching. His lecture is very thoughtful instead of telling all the things on the book. He is teaching real math. Sometimes he is bizarre and humorous.

Comment:

Professor Peterson is great! He makes you think beyond the regular materials. The quizzes are challenging, but at the same time he is very patient in helping you walk through the problems. His lectures might not be the most upbeat but he is really sweet and helpful. I think people should just stop complaining and put more effort into the class.

I think he gets a bad rep, really easy class. Skim over the textbook and go watch some Khan Academy and you'll be fine. Hw takes 2 hours He's quite peculiar, but that makes his lectures hilarious. i actually find that he's not that helpful during office hours, and just assumes you knows the material that you ask him about and are just confirming.

Absolutely awful at teaching and very unhelpful at office hours. You'll end up failing unless you study from another physics textbook, because the one he assigned (and wrote) is unintelligible like his lectures. I used to like physics but this class has convinced me to never take it again. STAY AWAY!

Nice enough guy who seems incredibly smart, but he just isn't great at explaining things in a way that's easy to understand. His lectures generally consist of him quickly solving complex problems on the board with little to no explanation and often make things more confusing. I feel like I had to teach myself most of the material.

Terrible. Not only a horrible lecturer, but no common sense or whatsoever. Received B when I should have gotten A-, it was clearly his mistake (he didn't correctly mark off somethings that I did, which then resulted in a lower grade) but refused to admit that he make a mistake. Wrote emails back and forth but no progress, I give up. STAY AWAY.

Truly one of the best professors ever. You work in his class, but he will always be there every step of the way. If you try, he'll put in all his effort to make sure you succeed. He understands and he believes in you, ONLY if you put in effort. Do not expect to get buy doing the bare minimum.

Truly awful. It's sad because he tries really hard to teach but fails. The only way to do alright on the tests and homework is to use past physics knowledge or teach yourself physics in your spare time. Please avoid this class if at all possible.

He tries really hard, but is a terrible teacher. He genuinely cares about his students, but is far too smart and esoteric to be teaching an intro class. Doesn't understand the questions asked in class - the more he explains, the more confusing it gets. Text is confusing, topics are organized poorly, it's just awful. It's sad - he's so nice.
