Saka is by far one of the gems of SRSU. He's a good guy that cares about his students and will talk to you about anything. His tests are nothing crazy but don't expect to not study and make an A. He teaches a lot of information and really quickly, show up early to class to get your notes written down and pay attention.

Saka was the best History prof I've ever had. Really interesting. If you want to pass, come to class and take notes. If you want an A, read the chapters in the book and do the definitions.

Awesome teacher, very well informed, open to discussion, lenient grader. He just wants to see the student tie ideas together using their own opinions, not a summary of events. If you can understand that, you are golden.

I LOVED THIS CLASS- so much information to study for, but it was easy! If you had an A, you were exempt from the final, or if you were happy with your grade, you won't have to take the final. Lots of papers to write and lots of notes. He is THE BEST!!!

I have never been interested in history until now. He makes things interesting, has a great sense of humor, lectures based on the book as well as his own knowledge (VERY well read!) & can have an intelligent opinion based on fact & his own findings because of how well read he is. Tests aret too bad, and he gives study guide at beginning of semester.

Saka.. I am a senior at Sam Houston State University now, but when I was a freshman I attended Sul Ross for 1 year. Professor Saka was probably the best professor I have ever had. If you show up to class and take good notes, this class great. My lowest grade in his class was a 96 out of two semesters with him. He truly cares about his students.

Best history class ever! Nothing like the occasional rant to spice up history. History is a story and should be told as a story. If you like the story of history and hate memorizing countless dates, this is your history class!

Dr. Saka is an old hippy and makes class fun. You don't have to be there for class, but most of the test material comes from lecture. Test can be hard, but if you looking for a basic "C" no problem. For "A" students like myself, it's a little bit of a challenge. Would recommend for upper level courses. Not for Freshman 1301 or 1302.

I do not like history, but Mr.Saka makes the class interesting by teaching as if he was telling a story which which keeps you awake. Tells you what's on the test the class before so if you study and pre write your essay you will easily get an A. He is very helpful and answers questions too!!!
