You HAVE to take a class with Mark. He tells the crazies stories. When he rambles on, just tell him. He loves to take students outside to draw and paint, and doesn't care about absences or lateness. Barely any HW. You'll learn a lot though, he doesn't care for perfect renderings, he wants you to SEE. Totally chill and refreshing class.

mark is so funny! you should definitely try and get into his class. He's extremely helpful and is slightly absent minded. he likes to draw on your art to help make corrections so i'd suggest you only take his class if you don't mind that. I strongly recommend that you have him as a professor. His stories are hilarious

I have him now for Drawing Studio at Parsons, and he's amaaazing.He's brought us donuts and bagels to draw/paint then eat, and he always brings supplies in case someone forgets. Plus he tells the funniest stories.

Mark Saltz is simply amazing! He is encouraging and made me love drawing. He tells wonderful stories, which are pretty much never true, but hilarious. If youre able to get into his class you are very very lucky. You will enjoy EVERY second of this class. I will miss spending 6 enjoyable hours with this awesome man. I LOVE MARK SALTZ!

Mark rocks! He suggests ways to improve your skills without being negative/critical, and I learned a fair amount. My favorite story was about the guys from the Andes who helped work on his studio. They had llamas climb the stairs and had to cut the wood in half, because they were too short. :D

i had him in the summer a few yrs back before i went into foundation. he's amazing, he's a madman, absolutely funny and a great teacher. dont believe everything that comes out of his mouth, he once told me that he swam the canal near my house and got arrested for it when he was a teenager... i'm still wondering if thats true.
