Very entertaining lectures. I loved attending his classes. Makes philosophy easy to understand. I expected to hate philosophy and I ended up loving it. Not many assessments throughout the semester, but very fair marker. Overall a fantastic prof and would love to take one of his courses again.

Honestly just an amazing human being. Favourite prof ever, he keeps his lectures exciting and makes the students feel known and cared about. Sitting front row is the best decision you could possibly make in this class.

Despite that he never uses slides and barely manages his OnQ webpage, his lectures are hilarious and I really enjoy taking his lectures.

This man is such a good lecturer that I actually woke up for the 8:30 classes he taught! He's this wonderful ball of energy, and so articulate and passionate that he makes subject matter that you don't necessarily like seem interesting.

Honestly this was by far my worst class. One way to describe this course: "painful". I found it incredibly hard to understand what Prof. Smith was talking about, his vocabulary and the way in which he presented content exceeded that of a First Year's. This course should definitely have weekly tutorials, the content is far too dense.

Smith is the coolest dude in the philosophy department by far. He is brilliant. I dislike metaphysical circularity, there was none of that in this course. On point, concise with the interesting material. He is a character, entertaining to listen to. A pleasure to be in his class. He really rocks, I loved ever class, never missed one.

By far the best prof I've had so far. Know's what he's talking about, never misses a beat. Interesting, engaging lectures, challenges you on a personal level. Not a cog in the institution. Will talk to you whenever. Relevant clear examples. I went to class because he did. (Now I mostly skip)

He's clearly very passionate about the philosophy of math, and it was infectious. He was super excitable and really entertaining. Readings were hard to get through but not mandatory in the end. Definitely try to get a class with him, even if you're not a philosophy person, it's a party and a half.

A great prof who gives very clear explanations and analyses the text during lectures (I recommend recording his lectures and make sure you take lots of notes during class as exams are mostly based on what he says during class). Very kind and helpful but may be a bit stubborn with his view points. If he says something's important, it IS important!

One would think that it would be hard to teach philosophy lectures, but Mark Smith is able to do it seamlessly. He is a great professor, isn't hesitant to answer questions and always make sure his students understand the content.

SO interesting!! Sparked my interest in the course. Went out of his way to help me and is incredibly understanding. FUN! Jumps on desks and runs around like a prof from the movies! Knows what he's saying and TEACHES it to you!

Talks fast and moves around the classroom a lot. Don't try and watch him, you'll get dizzy. Doesn't really help much in terms of teaching you how to write a good philosophy paper; it's trial and error which is a failure for an introductory course.
