I loved her. I can tell that French is her favorite language, and in a class of only 7 people, we each got a lot of attention and got helped out alot. She is so nice, and really trys to do her best to benefit her students. She might be a little eccentric from time to time, but it's what makes her class fun!

Comment:

I would have to say that Martha Wallen has been one of my favorite professors that I have ever taken. She is more than approachable, and even though she may go off on tangents, her love for language is unsurmountable. I would recommend going to class however, because you do alot of inclass activities and reading. Similarly, class sizes are small.

I went into this class hoping to learn a lot of spanish. However, i feel like i've gotten dumber... a 200 level Spanish class and we're speaking in English half the time?! i don't get it. It's a cinch because there's never any homework, but i want to be learning Spanish, not english.

SHe is a terrible teacher! I learned nothing in the 304 class. Each week there are two classes. the first one she reads the story out loud which takes the entire period. The second day she gives you a quiz. Her ability to speak Spanish is very elementary.

Martha is a really nice, well-meaning person. The class was pretty interesting and I got a whole lot better at Spanish. There are a lot of quizes testing you on vocab and the book, about once a week. At first they were really tough for me, but make vocab flash cards and MEMORIZE all your words/phrases and you will be okay on them.

I fricken love Martha Wallen! Yes, she is a crazy cat lady but she is hilarious. I pee my pants every time she tells a story. She once told us that she was a sheep dog and we are her students in need of hearding. AWESOME!!!

She is sooo easy! She is an old cat lady... lol... You can no tests or finals in this class. You take a 10 point quiz everyday though. It is the same thing everyday... come, take a quiz, learn something new, the next day do it all over again... but it is so easy... almost a joke...

She tries to be helpful, but can't explain anything clearly. I didn't learn a whole lot in the class because you learn something one day, take a quiz on it the next day, and never have to recall it again. No speaking. Super easy class but you don't learn much.

Not the best at explaining things, you have to self-teach yourself. She gives a quiz every day, no tests, so attendance is very important. Easy class, but if you really want to learn to speak Spanish, don't take her...no speaking at all, just memorization that you forget the next day after taking the quiz.
