took a jewelry course from him in spring of '97. excellent teacher. great assignments. hard to track down outside of class. very positive man. loved that he pushed artistic as much as function and quality. wished he taught all of the jewelry courses...

He is still awesome after all these years. Gives great feedback and is calm and encouraging. It's nice to have a steady, level-headed and serious prof. He's not into BS or blatant self-promotion. Kind of a Zen dude in a way. Encourages students to push themselves past their comfort zones. I learned A LOT from Ron. He's a gem (pun intended).

Probably operates beyond the grasp of the average Stout student, but if you can track with him he'll take you far. He's a very sharp and talented man. Do not underestimate him. If you have a problem with his class - look in the mirror. It's you. Not him. He's like Greek god. Seriously.
