4 books relied upon heavily for discussing, midterm, presentation, and final paper. I didn't buy any of them, let everyone talk in class about them, and read product descriptions which was enough to formulate general ideas and get an A. Very nice guy and excellent, knowledgeable professor who responds to emails with real answers.

I have taken Martin twice and I am trying to get into another one of his classes. I love him so much and he is honestly the nicest guy. If you have a problem or can't make the midterm or you miss some class he is cool and very understanding. He loves opinions and wants to hear from you. He likes when you disagree and open up a discussion. take him!

Dr. Laskin is an amazing professor. His lectures can be boring at times, but that is really just the nature of the material. He is a well-spoken, but soft-spoken individual. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed. His exams are open notes which allow you to relax and actually learn the material without stressing too hard. Great guy.

I have taken Professor Laskin 2 times and I am taking him for a 3rd next semester. His classes are easy, laid back, yet informative. He designs his classes to have an open note midterm and final, and a final paper ranging from 5-8 pages. Really sweet guy, and really easy going, no stress teacher.

Professor Laskin is an awesome professor, he lets you use your notes for tests. And everything he says is on the exams. One ten page research paper. And he engages the class. He is also such a sweetheart! I had him for American Jewry. I'm taking this course right now!

Dr. Laskin is a great professor. I took him for SOC of American Jewry and although the content of the course is a bit slow, he knows his stuff and keeps it interesting. 2 exams and a 5 pg paper. Attendance is mandatory.

Very nice man, he clearly loves teaching. The class is very straightforward: two tests and one 5-page paper. You won't need the book unless you want to use it as paper resource. If you're a history major (like me) looking for something to fit in your schedule, this is a good option.

He is the NICEST man you will ever meet! If you don't like to speak up in class you don't have to, but he accepts anyones thoughts and doesn't ever make you feel like you are wrong. There's a midterm, final, and 10 page paper. If you want a 6th class this is the one to take because it is just so easy. TAKE HIM!
