Comment:

Very boring and tough to sit through 80 minutes of lecture. Gives good notes but skips a lot of steps in examples, making it tough to figure out his method. His exams aren't too bad, but he is quite rude with students if you ask him questions. Expects you to know a lot of stuff that he will just skip over in class-sometimes justified, sometimes not

He is a great professor! very well organized notes and examples are very helpful. He knows his math very well and can help you see math in a whole new view. Assignments were fair and the exams were very good. Overall this was a good class to take.

Funny little french man. Knows his math for sure. But assumes you do too. Will skip tons of steps in notes and leave you to figure it out. Overall though, good notes, very fair assignments, and decent tests. The final sort of caught me off guard, tougher than expected. DO the assignments and go to class and you'll be fine.

I didn't find it hard to understand him. He really knows what he's talking about... problem is no one else does. Also final is worth more than half your mark and its ridiculously hard and nothing like the examples in class. And he is terrible at e-mailing or being helpful. PS Don't ever correct or question unless you want to be rudely shut down..

Yeah, where do I start? He's not very helpful at all. Don't bother asking him questions about math because while he is good at the subject he doesn't give you a straight forward answer. His exams are so-so, writing his final in 2 days so I'll see. Quotes that you will be tired of: "No doubt about it." "It is really kind of simple."

He was funny but rather rude to students. He taught very quickly and it wasn't really clear when he was switching topics. He would often skip half of an example after setting it up saying we could finish it at home. He didn't offer very many explanatory examples of anything so it was just confusing. Overall, I would not recommend him.

He's essentially pretty awful. I would rapidly suggest you avoid his class unless you want to learn on your own. Oops! If you take this class just stick with the text as it's a better teacher.

His accent is a nightmare. It wouldn't be so bad if he was good at explaining and presenting the information on the board, but his teaching method is extremely roundabout and confusing. I found it more helpful to look at the answers and work backwards than listen to what he was saying, as that was more confusing.

he was a nice man and was funny at times but he seemed to wander around the class clueless as to what he needed to do. his notes were messy and not posted online and he left many examples incomplete because "as you can see the solution is quite simple soooo yes I'll leave you to it". Correction: the solution is not as obvious as you think martin.

Rambling style of lecturing - you will hear "just over there", "essentially", and "if I may say" at least twice each per lecture. Fortunately, he seems to be following the textbook reasonably closely, and I find the material simple enough that his lecturing is not a detriment to my learning the material.

He is a good prof and knows what he is talking about and is fairly clear. He just knows it very well and expects his students to too. Really tough exams, goes through a lot of examples in class, but they are easy compared to exams, you need to practice much harder questions to do the exam well.

Comment:

Quite hard to follow/understand in the lectures. It's not that he doesn't know his stuff, but rather it almost seems that he knows it too well, and expects his students to as well. Assignments and midterm were a cakewalk compared to the final; only way to be truly prepared for it is if you do all the tough questions at the end of each chapter.
