love this man, he is the coolest! interesting material, no homework, but you do have to write down everything he says in class- cannot skip!! tests aren't difficult at all if you listen and take good notes, the textbooks hardly ever used.

Segal is a really nice older guy with some funny stories and the class is a breeze if you just pay attention to what he tells you. No Homework. Unfortunately his memory is starting to go and he will often tell you the same stories or think he has told you information he hasn't. Didn't like him at first but you warm up to him.

If you want to go to law school, TAKE THIS CLASS. Segal is amazing and smart, and his textbook (which he wrote himself) is easy to read and extremely informative. I kept his textbooks from class and I still use them pretty often now in my Torts and Contracts classes in law school. Def the best prof for BSL!

Very easy A but you HAVE TO go to class otherwise you will definitely not even pass. The quizzes are exactly what he goes over in class and the book is useless

You HAVE to go to class if you expect to understand anything. The textbook is helpful at first, but useless after a certain chapter because it's not Florida-specific. He reviews almost every piece of information that he covers and is VERY clear about what's going to be on the quizzes. Definitely a great Business Law elective, HIGHLY recommend!!

Segal is hands down the best professor in the Law department. He is everything I expected from a UM law professor. Sarcastic, a hard ass, but brilliant, great a teaching and hilariously funny. He makes every single topic extremely relevant to your every day life. Quizzes were easy. Final somewhat difficult, just cause its cumulative. Def take.

I liked him as a person because he is a little sarcastic. But when it came to the class struture he was not good. Messy with his presentations and you were kinda lost on the quizzes. In the quizzes he brings cases that in his head he talked about in my class. But in reality he said it in the same course but different times that my friend was taking

Comment:
Very confusing delivery of the material, not particularly organized in his presentation. Often obsessed over trivial details, missing the big concepts. Has difficulty communicating on the same level of his students. Often seems to lose his train of thought. Good guy but not particularly dedicated to helping students.

He is such an awesome professor and made the class interesting. The textbook is useless, so buy the studyguide which he wrote. He only quizses you on what you covered in class and the quizzes are easy. May major in business law because of him

This teacher is honestly the man. Hypothetical Harry and Sally always kept me awake, and he is funny. Some of the bad comments on here are not at all true. The way he speaks in class is very orderly so that way it is possible to take great notes. I have not gotten below an 8 on his tests and the max I studied was an hour

He's a great teacher! He really breaks down the information so that you understand it. He genuinely cares about his students and how well you do in the class. If you want a professor that just talks and doesn't care if you pay attention or not, this isn't him. Definitely take him!

Dr. Segal may be the most intriguing and compelling professor at UM. His diction is unrivaled and he explains everything immaculately. Buy the study guide. Segal wrote it so essentially all his quiz questions are consistent with what he wrote in the guide. He says he is always rooting for you, and he really is. Go to class and the A is yours!

Class notes were disorganized, and I found myself completely clueless as to what the guy was talking about probably 50% of the time. If you have to take this class with this professor, BUY THE STUDY GUIDE and read that instead of the text for the quizzes...study all the examples in the study guide as the quiz questions are very similar.

Class Notes are messy and not detailed. Quizzes are hard. Text is useless. Most examples are from an "optional" study guide. Have study for 4 hours on one quiz and study none at all for another and received the same grade. Waste of my time. Dropping this class and getting a different teacher next semester

Awesome professor. Simplifies everything he talks about with examples. His stories are always relevant to what hes talking about. Take this professor, you'll actually want to go to class. If you show up and listen you'll get an A.

He is an amazing professor! I highly recommend having him as a teacher. He grades a little tough but he explains why you get the grade you do in his comments on the quiz. The quizzes are straightforward, write down everything.
