Comment:
Dr. Fajardo-Acosta truly cares about his students but does not adequately test their knowledge. Your grade is made up of 5 quizzes (only 2 of which he counted because they are so difficult), 2 essays, and participation. He takes forever to grade papers and does not use blue line so it is hard to know where you stand in the class.

He is super easy. He quizes that are extremely hard over a lot of readings/information. But he ends up curving them and then even dropping MULTIPLE quizes and even an essay. Participation is very important. He is a very passionate prof, but make sure your work reflects his alt-left wing views, to make it easier to get an A.

Dr. Fidel is an amazing professor. He's the epitome of a liberal arts prof and teaches the course in a way that brings Jesuit values into action. He's super nice, very understanding, and respects students who participate and attend office hours. Even though ENG 220 is a core course, he adds lessons that are applicable to life outside the classroom.

Literally the most amazing person and professor you will ever meet. He is very caring and makes class super interesting. I always look forward to class with him. His class can be challenging, but he gives you everything you need in order to be successful in his class. His class will help you not only in school, but in life as well.

He is a truly caring professor. At the beginning of each and every class, he goes around the room for ten to fifteen minutes and checks in with each and every student. A quarter of the grade is participation, but the syllabus suggests that this is highly subjective and awarded at his discretion.

This professor changed my life. He was so attentive and willing to work with his students. No matter how bad I did on a quiz he always reminded me that I could do better and could keep working. He is one of the teachers that actually want you to do well in life, not just pass the class. I would take this class 10 times over.

BEST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD. Amazing lectures. I'm not exaggerating. Take him. Even if you don't agree with some things he says, you'll learn a lot. He's incredibly wise and a great speaker. He is on the watchlist for some conservative website. That's because he's awesome. It's a privilege to have the chance to listen to Professor Fajardo-Acosta.

Dr. Fajardo-Acosta is amazing!! I really wanted to take his class and I'm glad that I did. His lectures are absolutely amazing and it really changed my prospective. I never thought I would enjoy this class but he makes the information interesting and easy to understand. Lots of reading & quizzes for each. 3 papers with good feedback. Really caring!

Going into this class, I saw how many readings there were and dreaded it. I went to the first lecture and it was awesome. He questioned all of human existence and kind of changed my perspective on things. We read 5 classic books from different time periods and he tied them all together perfectly. He grades hard, but ultimately wants an A for all.

Best professor I've had in two years here. Lectures dissect the material and you end up learning life lessons. He is on another level when it comes to giving quality lectures. Takes attendance by walking around classroom and chatting a bit with each student asking how they are. Lots of reading, quizzes can be a bit difficult but so worth it!

He lectures are brilliant and amazing, so engaging that you leave with a sense of awe about the world you thought you knew. He is funny and encouraging, always asking students to conjecture, and then tying that into the lesson. I simply have not discovered a teacher more interested in my exploration of the subject. Knowledge is what he shares.

He is amazing ! Best professor I have had at Creighton, anyone who writes a bad review on Acosta probably just did not go to class. He is very personable, cares a ton about his students, makes an effort to get to know all his students. Also would not say he is hard, especially if you ask him for help.

Dr. Fajardo-Acosta is the hands down the best teacher I have ever had. His lectures and insights profoundly impacted the way I interpret literature and many other forms of history and entertainment. I would (and am going to) take another one of his courses any day.

Fidel is hands-down the most impressive professor I had at Creighton. I fortunate enough to take his Senior Perspective and History of the English Language. He makes students think for themselves and pushes them to see different perspectives. He also is always available for additional help. I loved the readings and the discussion.

You have to show up and participate, but you're pretty much going to get a B. An A if you put in the effort. You'll learn a ton from him though.

2 short essays and 5 quizzes over the reading. The term project, incl a 5-10 informal presentation, was the "final". If you do the reading, you'll ace the quizzes, which will include bonus points when he factors the "curve". Participation and attendance are graded, so go to class and answer questions. Would DEFINITELY take again.

Maybe it's just me, but I found Dr. Acosta to be a little too difficult for a 100 level ENG course. He is really nice and helpful. If you are insightful, he'll like you, but getting that grade is tough. He expects a lot (too much for me) from his students and you can find yourself spending more time on this class than other 300-levels.
