Marty is an easy grader if you're nice to him. Well-intentioned but not the best of teachers. Passive-aggressive, tends to be bitter about criticism about himself. Seems overly nice and is well-connected, so stay on his good side to get a good grade.

Doesnt know what he teaches. Lectures are a mess of bits taken straight from professors Ive had in the same department (who know what they are talking about). Avoid freshman year at all costs; he will not equip you with the skills needed at this school or in the industry. Years later, Im still playing catch up from the basics he never taught me.

He can't animate or draw, yet he's teaching freshman animation for some reason. You can get an A super easily, but if you are passionate about animating, get a different teacher. He begs for good reviews, and last year he stole another teachers lessons. As of this year, he's no longer allowed to teach a junior class, so that says a lot about him.

Used other teachers lectures without getting permission for it. Once threatened to lower a students grade for critiquing "his" lectures (even though he asked for said critique). I don't think he even knows how to animate.

Marty is a very chill person. He really cares for his students and wants them to succeed. The class is not extremely organized but that's his creative energy. He's very accessible throughout class and if you are diligent about asking for feedback on your work you can really improve your animation.

His "lectures" are directionless rants peppered with Youtube tutorials. Critiques are worthless because he's too concerned with being liked to tell anyone they're less than "excellent". After nearly a year of six hour classes, he still has never proven that he actually knows how to animate. Complete and utter waste of my time and money.

He's a great teacher. I've been given the privilege to be a student. He's helped me learn so much and im very grateful for new comers i 100% reccomend to take his class. He's outgoing, funny and cares for his students. I can gladly say that i will be leaving his class with much more respect and knowledge in animation.

Marty is very animated and outgoing. He's a funny guy and has a good background working in film and broadcast industry. He expects you to take it and go with it, he wont constrict you too much and allows you to do what you want. He teaches concepts without beating it to death. Great teacher, someone I talk to outside of school.

He's a nice guy, but he's not for everyone. Very talkative but easily distracted, so you have to put effort in getting his attention. He covers some of the principles of animation and is very enthusiastic over old-school cartoons (so if this is not your thing, you have to sit tight). He is very loose in his exercises. Don't get onto his bad side.

easygoing guy. great for letting you do experimental work, more of a stand back and let you do your own work teacher. if you need someone pushing you all the time, he's not the teacher for you. if you like working at a steady pace and doing your own thing-this is a perfect class. so happy i took marty!

He can't teach for his life. He lets you do whatever you want, which is good for experimenting but bad if you want to know the basics of animation. Has favorites and gives out grades so people will like him (he claims he's joking, but it's true). Do not take his class as a foundation class...you most likely won't learn anything.

The treatment he gives to his students is not fair. Some he gives much attention, other barly any. His criticism isn't helpful due to his limited knowlege in animation. Little is learned thoughout both semesters. But the class is very free and leaves much room for experimation.

hes super nice guy. had lots of fun in his class but most of the time he taught us out of a book he was reading. marty has lots of experience in music video and grafic work but at times he seem to know a limited amount of animation. if you take him be sure to ask him how to do things to get better instructions. oh he'll talk about the dead boys alo

Sweet guy. I really like it when his eyes light up when he see's what I've done. He gives good critiques on how to improve. he's just gives off this Aura of happiness lol.. this guy loves what he does and he loves new people entering the field. Love animation, Love Marty. i hear the years to come are trecherous. Enjoy him.
