kaufmans great, im a major in his department so he teaches the majority of my classes. hes great! l hes a great teacher loves what hes doing his passion for the subject shows makes you want to listen and hes big on his lectures so take detailed notes pay attention to his diagrams and study and youll get an A he wants you to be great hes my favorite

I took my first class with Dr. Kaufman during my junior year. I had originally intended to pursue a mathematics degree in secondary education, but after taking his class I added a new major: Environmental Science and Planning. He is one of the main reasons I changed my mind--he inspired me to pursue a higher education in atmospheric sciences.

He has such a wealth of knowledge- I learned way more than I should have for a basic geography class. I mean that in the best possible way. Discussions were always interesting and he explained things in ways that everyone could understand. I wasn't 100% sure I wanted to study earth science until I took his course.

Great prof. tries to keep the mood light. Study definitions and take notes in lecture because that's where all the test material comes from. Multiple choice and short answers with a light workload. Highly recommended. Also, he is very helpful and willing to answer all questions in person or by email.

I've taken 4 classes with Professor Kaufman. He is great at explaining the same concept in many different ways. His upper level classes are rough, but you just need to study and do everything he says that will help. Great guy!

I've taken many classes with Kaufman, and he is one of my favorite profs. It's true, he really is an arrogant jerk who is often insulting, but he knows his stuff, is great at explaining the material. He gives work that makes you understand concepts, rather than just memorize. Not easy but worth the effort, as long as you have thick skin.

He is a really nice guy and tries to bring a sense of humor to class. He likes to draw graphs to try to explain himself, and he sucks at drawing, so that was hard to understand. Exams were difficult, so study for them. Great guy, difficult to understand at times.

Professor Kaufman is a great teacher. His notes are very clear. As long as you go to class and take the notes you will do well. He makes the class interesting. No home work, but the more you study the notes the better you will do in the class. You don't need the book because he covers everything in his notes. Amazing class!

I had absolutely no interest in taking this class and suck at science, but I find Kaufman easy to listen to and likable. After the first test I realised that I didn't need to try as hard, just sit back and listen. I even find myself studying just for fun. His tests are a little hard but he offer extra credit.

I expected a lot out of Prof. Kaufman, but have been very disappointed. His lectures are very random and unfocused. He hops from one subject to the next, which makes it difficult to take notes. This class was much harder than it should be because of this.
