Comment:
Pasternak was one of my favorite professors in Brooklyn College. He taught American Pluralism, and besides for his occasional touchiness to people, he's a good guy. If you are willing to actually learn a bit of history he's actually great (and I actually hate history). He gave a midterm and a final paper, and graded for attendance. He's great.

You will never go wrong with professor Pasternak. Truly a magnificent human being with great experience under his belt. Respects the students in the classroom. No homework assignments, no quizzes, only 2 exams and a final paper that you can to write about any topic that you have covered in the classroom.

I took this man about 2 years ago but thought it was worth writing in. I just wanted to say that there is NO professor that has a passion for history more than Professor Pasternak. I not only consider him to be a great professor, but a great person at that. He is one of the most brilliant men I've ever met. And anyone would be lucky to take him.

One of the greatest professors in CSI! He really enjoys teaching the subject and knows it very well. He is also funny, I really looked forward to his class despite being a morning class. He also cares a lot for his students. If you ever have a chance to take his class, take it, you wont regret it!

He is a great professor overall when it comes to grading wise. But he's always talking about the paper every single class going on about "primary sources". He sounds like a broken record. Please we get it the first time. Don't have to repeat yourself every single class anyways he's pretty easy. Anyways he's good. Embarrassing you is unessary.

Too liberal in his views for my taste. He basically throws the blame on Whites for everything bad which happened in history. He has odd habits such as he will embarrass random people from time to time. Other than that he is a very fair grader and a nice guy.

A really understanding and generally nice professor. Tends to be entertaining. He has standards in grading but you would have to try and be an idiot to get a mark less than a B. He'll try to help you out if you have problems. It appears that grades are partly based on class participation, which he sort of forces you to do. So be prepared in class.

Don't take this class if you plan on not reading or even getting a textbook. He gives outlines for his exams but that means you have to be very detailed or you'll get C or below. He must grade on a curve because I got a B with C-,C, C+.

Words can not describe how amazing a professor Marty Pasternak is. If you are a student who sits in the back and doesn't participate, he will make a point to embarrass you. Do not pass the opportunity to take his class. He is very knowledgable and passionate about history. TAKE HIS CLASS! I know I will take him again.
