Great lecturer. I literally love this man. Took his American Catholic History class the quizzes and essays are directly related to his study guide questions. Be ready for readings and questions every class but it makes the rest of assignments so much easier. Very approachable and looking to help students! Take this class

Dr. Lakeland is a very good lecturer. Prior to his class, I did not really care about the topic, but the way he lectures gets you into the subject. He is very scholarly and educated on the topic. Class consisted of quizzes, a paper, a final, and discussions. Great guy and great professor!

He knows his stuff like nobody else. Example: I was in his class the day they announced the new Pope. Halfway through a secretary came with a note for him. He told us that CNN wanted him to comment on the story. Great "inside" stuff on the church and opus dei. If you particpate, you're gold.

Awesome teacher, stand-up guy. You will learn a lot from this guy, best class I took this semester. Not a lot of written work, but you must read 6-8 novels in order to participate in discussions and do well on the final, and the selection of novels is great. I cannot stress how enjoyable this class was for me, take it if you have the opportunity.

I hate this man with all of my heart. I disagreed with his book on the final and he gave me a C- on it. I asked him to see the final but he wouldn't email it to me or mail it to me...he wanted me to come to connecticut. Pretty soon after that he just ignored my emails.now everytime i go into a bookstore i hide his books so no one will buy them.

Brilliant guy, the subject itself seems it would be boring and difficult but the way he lectures make it really interesting. I learned so much and his classes have been the only religion classes I've ever been interested in. Not to mention his adorable accent!

The most intelligent professor I have had, and I am a junior. I love his english accent, and he is so knowledgable about the Laity's role in the Catholic Church. I wasn't too interested in it at first, but I wound up learning a lot about Catholicism. Definitely take him!

Great teacher very intelligent, Makes you think outside of the bubble you probably live in. Work load is heavy, lots of class discussion if you don't read he will know by your participation in class discussion. Take him if you want to learn something
