Comment:

Horribly over organized, goes off on tangents. Talks for 3 hours straight. Everyone just stares at him trying to figure out what they should get out of the class. I have spent 30 hours in class with him and have a half page of notes. It's easier to skip the class and just read the text.

I have never worked so hard in any class in my life and have also never learned as much from a single class, either. He is a very smart guy and knows his stuff. I love him.

Took him online. His book is self made consisting of notes and scans and it's a little confusing to navigate. The whole class requires making very specific outlines. He demands perfection so the outlines were surprisingly hard! Class personally wasn't my cup of tea but I had health issues and he gave me a month long extension. Nice guy!

Comment:

Dr. Kingston is a very high energy guy who can sometimes get carried away in his lectures. Dr. Kingston is very focused on papers and edits them like they were English papers. Over all I liked the his class but at times it was not clear as to what we were doing. I also think Dr. Kingston is very interesting but be prepared to work in his class.

This man is ridiculous, he expects that you come into this class as an expert. I was really interested in this field, but after taking courses from him I changed my mind. He wasn't very helpful, and basically ruined this subject for me.

I took an online class where the instructor was unclear with what he wanted us to do for the assignments and when asked told me to locate that in the textbook he created. The text pages were unnumbered, mostly just photocopies in a binder. Very vague, unclear and unhelpful. Never again.

All he really does in this class is talk about how he went to Harvard and how you should be taking notes on just about every word he says. He is obsessed with outlines and papers. He knows his goods though but he kinda makes you fell stupid in class so no one likes to talk. Awkward silence, oh the joys. You watch disgusting movies in class.

At first i had a hard time with him. He seemed all of these negative comments and more. Most of the people that give him a negative comment do so because they drop before they know him. He is demanding and hard, but i learned a lot from him and he worked the extra hundred yards to help me get through the course.

Probably the worst teacher i have ever had. The class is a "intro" to sociology and yet he sees us as graduates of "harvard". VERY sure of himself, always saying how smart he is, and how dumb we are! Cant stand him. Dropping the class tommarow! And the only advice i have is to not take anything with him!

He does spend far too much time going over HOW to take notes, lots of outlining, and learning HOW to read (because aparently theres such a flaw in the public education system that we have NO clue HOW to). You will learn a lot from him but if you want something you dont have to work so much at, take a different professor. He does have a great personality, though- very funny at random times. He has a lot of knowledge to offer you- and I think people overemphasize his harvard experiences. its not too important

Kingston is funny, candid, clever. His way of teaching is difficult and ambiguous, but what can you expect from someone so into his field of work? He wants everyone to know how the world works, and if you take his (and I mean take it!) class you will.

This is the WORST teacher I've ever had. Assignments are pointless and difficult. The teaching material LITERALLY put me to sleep! The man is egotistical and arrogant. His accent also makes him difficult to understand. This is an awful teacher!

This is the most amazing teacher I've ever had! He's brilliant--two master's and a phd...from Harvard and Oxford!! He's also pretty fun and makes a difficult discipline much easier to understand. He's challenging, but that's what makes you learn!

HATED IT! He makes every student feel STUPID and is constantly bragging about how much more educated he was when he was our ages. His pace is quick and his assignments are difficult. He TRIES to be helpful and clear in class, but he just instructs at a level above our comprehension.

He is a good professor, he went to Harvard and is rich and teaches just because he loves to teach. He does have an ego but is a great professor. I recommend taking him.
