His World War II class has been nothing but African American's in World War II. Complete waste of time if you're looking to learn and discuss the war.

I took HIST 3150, African American History, online, and it was one of the most challenging classes I've ever taken - there is a LOT of material. That said, Professor Fletcher's grades are fair & his lectures are interesting. Do NOT take this class if you're looking for an easy 3 credit hours. You'll earn every bit of your grade if you work for it.

An example of a test question: What color was the envelope sent home from the trenches during Christmas 1914? Tests are centered on trivia minutiae. Most information is very dated, some even type-writer generated. Would kill anybody's love for history@

AWFUL!! Worst experience I had at OU. I was very interested in taking this course and he made it dreadful. Reading OVERLOAD and he absolutely cannot teach. Tests and quizzes are ridiculous and he had to curve EVERYTHING. I really wanted to like this class but it was impossible. NOT recommended.

Tough Course, Knowledgeable Professor, Be ready to read... A LOT! Quizzes and Exams are all tough so studying and going to every class is highly recommended if you plan on passing this class. If you're a slacker, find another course.

He's a good guy but his classes are extremely boring! His notes are very basic so most of your notes come from what he is saying. The test are ridiculous and is very tough on grading. I went to every class and took notes and still struggled. If history isn't your thing then don't take this class!

He is a very harsh grader. Although I read on other comments that he gives study guides before exams, apparently he has stopped doing this because I have never seen him pass out a paper that did not have a grade lower than a C- on it. Very rediculous questions based on specific information impossible to guess before the exam. Don't waste your time.

this professor did not review my master's thesis in a timely manner, and cost me my master's degree after I had accumulated more than 60, yes 60, graduate hours in Athens, Ohio in the History Dept. Don't take this professor unless you want to waste your time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible teacher, the hardest grader I ever had in my four years of teaching. There are so many better teachers that OU has to offer, like Dr. Goda and Dr. Minor, so don't take any of this guys class. He will make sure that you don't get an A in his class. On the first test no one got an 80 or above, so it gets to the point, why study.

Fletcher is a really nice guy, and is extremely knowledgeable, but is a very harsh grader. I put hours of outside work into this class, and still came out with a D. As nice of a guy as he is, don't take this class.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM! He is not a very good professor. His tests are ridiculus. He is all over the place in lecture. He does give you study guides with all the possible questions on there...but don't let that fool you...Don't expect to do well in this class.

This is not an easy a class. The exams are mostly over bland articles, but you still sit through long boring lectures. Exam questions concern overly specific nothing details that i assume where in the articles. he is very rough when grading essays. On the plus side, he knows what he's teaching and the grading curve will help you.

unclear on what readings to do when. what i thought would be a fun class was too much work for me to handle. exams are really difficult. essays have to be perfect in order to get higher than a F on them. teacher not helpful. avoid this class if at all possible.

Exams really tough, even though he gives you a study guide, with all possible terms and essay questions. Online quizzes were horrible, with average grades being Cs or Ds. Terribly dull lecturer, though enthusiastic about the subject matter. Also showed several movie clips, which was good. Goofy and funny when you meet him outside of class.

exams are very difficult. most questions on exams come from material not covered in lecture. he expects you to do lots of reading on your own to learn the material. it's not uncommon for class averages on exams to be in the low D range.

Great job of making the material as dull as possible. Only thing I liked of the class was the very hot TA. I went to discussion to watch her! Other than that.. the reading material sucked. Even his teaching style sucked.

He gives study guides before each exam but the exams are pretty hard. The questions sometimes seem more like trivia questions.
