If you want to feel like you're actually learning something in college, take a class with Jon. You definitely have to attend lecture, but you'll want to. In a world of dry professors, this guy's an ocean. Knows his stuff, has strong opinions but will warn you when he's about to be biased. He really knows how to apply the subject matter to real life

Jon was a pretty good instructor, I enjoyed the class. You need to study for exams, but other than that not too much outside work for the class. He is very understanding with students. I enjoyed his class and would like to take another class from him.

Enjoyed his class in beginning of quarter, made it interesting. But would only help me if I went to his office hours. Very opinionated though. If you write a paper for him, expect to use his ideas and not your own. Over-all decent class. learned a lot.

actually a TA, but don't let that prevent you from taking this class! He's an engaging lecturer, clear, funny and personable, and always available for his students. Knowledgable, interesting, good looking- what more could you want?
