Great professor. Yes, he's different and he may bore you with the same discussions daily but he's a must-take for a full LTU experience. He's a great, inspiring mind. He can easily get off topic, but pay attention in class and join the class discussions and you'll be set. Always have something logical to say and contribute with to the discussions.

If you want an idea of how he teaches the class, a friend and I were going to study for an exam together and it turns out we're in different courses, just the same professor. You'll hear the same stuff every day and if you can repeat it back to him in essays, you're set.

Good intentions for his students. Sure, he tells you the same life story in class 10 days in a row, but I suppose that is better than actually reading the textbook. We honestly do nothing in class, so for our essays you have to do a lot of self-taught learning. He is an easy grader as long as you exert effort and have a clear intelligent opinion.

He is a crazy crazy guy. He always gets off topic and I can't even begin to describe how the class works. It was a weird weird experience. Just ask a bunch of questions cuz he wont really explain much if you dont. He will just go off on tangents. Dont be afraid to speak up and ask things!

This guy...I honestly don't know how to rate him. He really is a scatterbrain, will talk about anything he feels like at the moment. However, you can tell he cares about our education and doesn't grade to hard as long as you write as he likes. If you think you can handle his craziness, go for it. I heard the other Dev teachers are much harder.

He is the prime example of a scatterbrain. When he teach or just talk you tend to drift off and then begain to wonder why are you in college. After his class you are ready to quit school. So boring and long winded and all over the place. Just weird.

Dr. Stern is an interesting one. Hes a really funny guy who enjoys deep in class discussion. He has a massive ego, but probably deserves it after receiving five degrees. Beware of constant use of terms such as barber college, workerbee and the 44th floor. Overall, very interesting guy who tells a lot of neat stories and challenges you to improve.

He loves story time and "closing up your boxes." You'll either love him or hate him. I found that he would accept anything, no matter how wild or ridiculous, as long as you could back it up, so it's not that hard.

He is pretty easy and gets distracted easy too. However, he has a knack for always bringing the most important points up. He goes off on stories quite often but they usually have some meaning to the topic at hand. On essays he HATES it if you write too much! And I quote; ... I don't want to read that much and you don't want to write that much!

He says he's hard but he's easy. He goes at a slow pace and explains the key ideas of each person. All the assignments are clustered toward the end of the semester though. He's hilarious at times and tells a lot of stories.

Took Stern for Development of the American Experience after having a blast with him for Foundations. He really cares about his students, relates material to modern times, and brings all the readings into perspective. He's the best humanities teacher at LTU. TAKE HIM!

People complaining about him have a stick up their rear first of all... cough! You read the material, and then you discuss it in a big group and he'll tie in modern events to the material, which really puts things into perspective why you should learn. Really teaches you how to think analytically and intelligently. The best humanities prof. @LTU

This guy reminds me of a secular Jack van Impe, very eccentric. He is strongly against the systematical method of learning that permeates highschool. He, cuts down bigtime for spelling and actually has vocabulary tests. Tricks to defeating him (like he's some videogame boss) are: don't memorize verbaitim, define with your own words, and use humor.

Terrible professor. Like others said, he repeats himself over and over then rushes at the last minute. The only grade given before the drop date was 1 test, so there was no feedback on how you were doing. You have to use his writing style, but he does a terrible job of explaining what that is.

the best way to explain him is that he is not impartial in grading and views. he picks who he likes and dislikes. if he likes you, then you will get an A easily.if he doesn't like you, you will probably get a D. this is why there are mixed feelings.bad teacher to take. who knows if he'll like you?
