This class is definitely more helpful if you are going the investment route rather than corporate route but either way I would take this class for the sole reason of adding Mary to your network. She's connected to a lot of ppl in the finc community & if you're serious about finance take her. Probably one of the hardest finance classes but worth it

She is able to keep the class interesting, and helps her students when they ask. The project is a big part of your grade, but she sets deadlines throughout the course, based on whats been covered. It will be rather difficult if you don't know math, but that's because finance is mostly math.

She goes more in depth than some other profs do for a finance intro course. She's incredibly smart and has great connections (utilize this!). No attendance or grading homework, but buy the book and do assigned problems. Stock project is fairly easy and I took a lot out of it. Class requires some effort, but well worth it.

Solid class. She's crazy smart and super helpful. She's been out there and knows a lot about real world examples. Not the easiest course, but she's my favorite professor I've had thus far.

Mary is such a sweet lady and SO smart. You will learn a lot, but the class can be quite a bit of work. She looks out for her students and gives them GREAT financial advise (extra bonus to that expensive tuition). She will help everyone, but I will say this- regardless of whatever she says, "Mar Bear" definitely does have favorites.

Both good and bad comments on Mary are valid. She is very unclear until the class goes over the assignment. Yet students also learn better by doing it themselves. Understand math=ok, don't=possible struggle, but not if you work hard to go over the homework. Do your assignments, and then do more sample problems, then you'll come out all right.

She is hard professor, but is a very good professor. She gives the questions before the test, but they are still challenging. Pretty generous with the points on the test. She really does care that her students do well, understand the material, is always willing to help and I would definetly reccommend her to anyone.

i would definately agree. daugherty is great and you KNOW she was smokin' hot back in the day. anyways, the people who are complaining are the ones who don't get math. she's a great prof and definately recommended.

Okay so I took her for FINC 321 fall semester 2004. She is the worst teacher I have ever seen in my life. I ended up droping her class because I couldn't figure out what was going on. Now I am taking the class with a different teacher and it is making such a difference. DO NOT TAKE HER FOR FINC 321!

She is not as difficult as everybody claims for this class. A BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF ALGEBRA, AMAZINGLY, IS REQUIRED FOR FINANCE...the people in my class who complained about her had no grasp of HIGH SCHOOL math. She is personable and always willing to help...if you take the time to ask.

Do not take this teacher for FINC 321. She does not explain anything in class, so you have to either go to tutoring or her office hours. Takes a lot more time that it should. I have heard that she is better at teaching the more advanced classes.

likes herself a lot. doesnt think its her job to teach us, makes the students go to the board and teach the others how to do the problem, and then tells us its all common sense. dont take her, take hamilton hes awesome and is really helpful unlike her.
