16 quizzes (one per chapter) and three reflections on "The Glass Castle" are the only grades she considers. Quizzes are not hard and she provides hints for each quiz, sometimes she even gives the answers point blank in class. Very entertaining person who gives enjoyable lectures

Dr. Reed is such an interesting, dedicated professor. She puts her all into her classes and doesn't hold back. Her classes are completely reasonable. They are tough, but you know what is expected of you through the syllabus. Dr. Reed can be your biggest advocate so it's important to give her respect is you want that back.

Comment:

The worst professor I've experience at York. I am very disappointed in the quality of this class. She puts her opinion into everything and somehow always manages to bring up politics that are completely unrelated. I learned little to nothing from her class, and did not appreciate her rudeness.

Very knowledgeable. Test can be a bit hard, but she gives you almost 200 questions to choose from and you pick 50 to answer or she will have an essays. As long as you read the sections you will do fine! She is very opinionated on certain topics and sarcastic which some students take offensively. I, however, enjoyed her class!

I took Mary Kay for child/adol development and I thought she was great. All her tests are directly from the book. Halfway through the semester I stopped going to class and just read the book. Easy A if you just read the book, don't take notes in class nothing she says is on the test. Her lectures are great but none of the material is on the test.

She was very rude to students, constantly putting them on the spot with rediculous questions that only she could know the answer to. (ex. So, therefore one can't........ You can't walk without legs? I don't know what you are getting at!) She thinks she is God's gift to Psychology and everyone else is on the earth to basque in her righteousness.

horrible prof rude to people awalys goes "wrong!!!" not a very hard grader just not very polite. thinks she is the best psychologist in the world and refers to herself in the third person constantly

Mary Kay was very organized and straightforward about her expectations. Her sarcasm and biting wit put off a few students, but she knew how to keep our attention during lectures on potentially dry material. Not an easy grader, but rarely assigns busy work. Selected interesting books for seminar that led to some very stimulating discussions.

I love Mary Kay. Stay on her good side and you will be stellar. She will tell you what to do, just make sure that you do it because she will show no remorse if you don't. Very straight-forward. Probably one of the best prof's my entire college career.

This was one person that could keep me up and interested in psych at 8am. She is a little zaney, but knows her stuff. Don't be afraid to ask for help after class if your lost for some reason. She was my advisor as well. Basically she is on my pro list.

I've learned a lot in class, and she's been very helpful with any questions/concerns I had. She makes the class interesting. Don't believe everything you hear about her. If you try hard and do your work, then you'll get a good grade.
