I don't understand where all the negative ratings are coming from. I do agree that her classes are difficult, but that's the whole point. She has been one of those professors who I feel have challenged me enough which results in truly learning class material. In my opinion, she did her job well. Thank you Dr. Poole.

She is by far the worst professor I have ever taken at CSUSM. I should of avoided this class because this website does not lie. She gives so much work, more than my 400-level classes. She doesnt even lecture and her assignment directions are so unclear and all the due dates are wrong! Such an unorganized online class! Never taking her again!

She is the absolute worst teacher I have ever had. She gets extremely behind on grading and assigns way too much reading. This class gives way more homework than upper division classes. 10 page paper with terrible instructions. Avoid this teacher at all costs! She is rude to her students, not understanding, and a joke of a teacher.

I took this class online. She assigns a weekly forum post and there is so much reading to do. This course is very work-load heavy, even more than my upper division classes. Its not hard stuff, theres just so much it seems pointless. Other than that theres just one paper and one final.

She is very helpful and understanding during her office hours and gives out amazing lectures and notes. This class requires alot of reading but they are very interesting, important and amazing lectures. Make sure to study and be prepared

Professor Poole seems to change her mind very often about assignments. Had to have multiple assignments regraded because she would ask for one thing and give me feedback saying I didn't answer assignments correctly. She was okay about fixing my grades but really annoying she would forget her own requirements. Lots of tedious work strongly avoid!!!!

She is worst online professor! She is always behind on your grades to the point where you have to constantly remind her!! She is rude and doesn't reply to your emails. Did not like her at all & shouldn't be a professor at San Marcos.

The professor taught directly out of scholarly journals that I could have looked for in my free time. I took this course because I thought it was going to be like my previous online class, but this one was just horribly conducted. If you can avoid, please do so, she's bad at replying to email or helping.

Avoid if you have other choices. Do not buy the books until you get the syllabus (I've wasted my money buying/renting 2 of the 3 listed books). There are tons of reading and the syllabus is a little confusing. So unorganized. She does give you the option to do a community service project (with 2 locations of her choosing) or a final exam.

She is really passionate about what she teaches. Make an effort to have her know you and she will go the extra mile to help you. Overall she is a great professor, although she is not a tenure so her schedule is busy with lectures. Take advantage of her office hours, if she sees you care about your grade she will help and be lenient with grading.

I have taken two different online classes with Professor Poole. The weekly forums are very eases, as are the quizzes. However, when it comes to bigger projects, her instructions change constantly, are unclear, and she is not helpful when you ask for clarification. I had mostly unpleasant exchanges with her, she can be rude when you ask for help.

So insanely unorganized! I don't know if it's just this semester or what but wow. I can't retain any information because she's all over the place! She goes off topic constantly and it's common for her to get on her soap box about issues. She even cried. I don't expect to get a good grade because I stopped caring about this class.

Took this fully online and was able to get a B with little effort. One big paper at the end and a few weekly discussion forum questions. Tests easy. Definitely would recommend taking her online classes. Took another online class with her last year and got an A

This class was rough, I thought I was not going to pass honestly. There were several LM's those were easy, a huge paper that is worked on the entire semester in parts. Some quizzes (like 2). She is not very approachable in terms of help. She is not very clear either and her instructions for assignments are so confusing. Wouldn't take her again.

I don't know what people are talking about with Poole. Take her classes in class. She is adorable and sweet. Assigns readings from books and thats what the exams are based on. Pretty easy exams. 20 hours of community service required by end of semester, its not impossible and a 5 pg. paper based on community service. Easy!

She is so unorganized! She changes assignments and due dates often. Very unclear explanations of material and assignments and would become upset when asked questions. She often appeared distracted and as if she didn't want to be in class. Take another professor if possible.
