Comment:
Mary Kassis is an average professor. I took her online Macroeconomics class, and there was a ton of work that had to be done. There were several websites that had to be switched back and forth from to do the assignments each week. The discussions and class quizzes were fairly simple. Midterm is easy, final was a bit harder. Tough grader sometimes.

I took Dr. Kassis for econ history as an econ elective. However she graded very unfairly and is extremely condescending and not pleasant. She is not flexible or helpful and grades essays on tests ridiculously hard. Highly advise against her.

She was great. The lectures and the in-class assignments helped a lot. The textbook is required. Read the chapters and everything will be easy. The in-class assignments are always on the first part of the test and she goes over them in class. The homework and quizzes are online. Show up to class and read the textbook and you will do fine.

I overall enjoyed Dr. Kassis's class. Her exams are very thorough, so you'll actually have to read the textbook if you want an A. Despite being a morning class, she's pretty energetic and more than happy to answer any questions in class. Attendance is important bc she gives in-class assignments that you do together.

If you do your work it's an easy A. Don't skip homework and go to class. If you need help go to her office hours and she will help you until you fully understand your question.

Explains Macro Econ very well! Makes its easy to understand! Weekly online HW assignment, which helps you understand material. 3 test + final which is not accumulative! 1 paper which helps your grade. Days you don't have class you have an online module which isn't hard, just watch the video & answer the ?'s ( doesn't grade them, but do them)

(This is for Pub. Finance)She uses power-points everyday and assigns study questions for every chapter which help you with her in-class quizzes; however on her tests a lot of the multiple choice questions were never covered in class or on study questions. She expects you to read every word in the chapters.

I would not recommend anyone taking her. Her lectures come straight from her power points which come straight from the book. The only reason why she does clicker questions is for attendance. If you read the book, you will get an A. Listening to her lecture is BORING and POINTLESS! Take another teacher if possible.

Dr. Kassis is a fairly decent teacher. She clearly states what is expected, and explains the material covered by the tests well. However, class attendance seems pointless (powerpoints online, lectures straight from book) but is factored into the grade. To do well, follow directions and study hard. Tip: book website has helpful study tools.

She is seriously the cure for insomnia. I would know, I have it. She knows what she's talking about but her tests are ridiculously hard. I went into the class with confidence and failed with flying colors after putting WAY more time into it than I intended. I heard she was easy and man either I'm stupid or they lied. Nice woman, hard teacher!

Easy A! The only grades are 4 exams, a paper, and easy internet homework on Aplia. I played games on my calculator, fell asleep, or daydreamed most of the time during this class. The powerpoints that she lectures from are available online. Study those and you should do exceedingly well!
