Dr. Vaughn is a pretty laid back professor with so much wisdom that she readily shares with her students. Everything about her class was pretty straightforward and if you ever had any questions she is typically free to answer questions. Getting If you pay attention in class and do your homework (there is plenty) you can pretty much expect an A.

Dr. Vaughn is such a wonderful teacher! She makes things easy to understand and you really learn a lot. Take notes on what she says, but the exams are very straightforward and not extremely challenging if you study.

Dr. Vaughn's COM 1930 class was an absolute joy; I looked forward to attending the class each day. She is a very engaging teacher who sets out clear criteria, and she will gladly sacrifice her time to help you do well. Very fun teacher and I would (and likely will) take her again.

Dr. Vaughn is the best professor I have had at Belmont thus-far. I have taken 2 classes with her 2 semesters in a row and I wish I could take more. The tests are easy if you study and make sure to always do your homework! You will watch a lot of The Office, so get used to it. I HIGHLY recommend to take her!!

Absolutely LOVE Dr. Vaughn. She's by far one of my absolute favorite professors. I've never met a professor that cares more about their students or someone that is willing to work with them as much as she is. If you do what your told in this class you will pass with a high A. She doesn't try to trick you. She made me love speech and public speaking

CHAPTER(S) READING SUMMARIES WERE DUE EVERY CLASS UNTIL NOVEMBER. THESE NOTES COULD BE USED ON TEST, SO I TOOK GOOD ONES AND IT MADE THE TEST HELLA EASY. I DIDN'T ACTUALLY USE THE NOTES, NOR DID STUDY BUT THAT'S BECAUSE I TOOK NOTES IN/OUT-SIDE OF CLASS. TEST TOOK 15 MINUTES TOPS - I PAID ATTENTION IN CLASS. VAUGHN IS THERE TO HELP!

Dr. Vaughn is one of Belmont's finest. Absolutely take her if you get the chance!! She gives clear examples and relates the course material to real world stuff so well. I learned so much from her class, while also getting a great grade fairly easily!

Not my 1st class with Dr. Vaughn. You will have reading every night, but this will help your grade if you do it. She's very professional and expects a lot from you. Also a Type A so can sometimes be condescending. I never seem to do well on her tests; the average class grades are usually around 70's or 80's. But other ways to keep up grades.

She follows the syllabus she gives you so you know what you're doing and what needs to be done prior to class. Also, she is really helpful when you as questions. She'll always make time for you to go over your outlines and speeches with her. She has a good sense of humor and is really nice. Loved Mary as a person and a professor!

Mrs. Vaughn is my favorite teacher at belmont! She actually teaches! The tests were easy because I only had to review my notes maybe twice because she taught everything in class. She is very intensional, and wants to make sure students understand the material. She is seriously the best teacher in the communications department! hands down

I have to say, I was DREADING speech before taking it. I hate talking in front of people, but in this class I felt comfortable. You will have to work really hard to get an A on her speeches, but she is ALWAYS willing to help you out and look over your outlines. Some of my friends had an easier workload, but I would still take Mary Vaughn again.

Prior to starting this seminar class, I had no interest in "Ways of Communicating." This is the only class that I didnt skip! She is always more than willing to help her students. Because of her, I added communications as a minor. She is the best professor I have had since I came to Belmont, and I HIGHLY reccommend her!

Mary sometimes gave me the vibe that she didn't like me or that she had already formed her own opinions about the questions she asked us, and if we didn't answer them like she thought we should she wouldn't be open to our POV.
