Pretty useless, especially if you're a physics major. Condescension is her tactic, and her patience definitely runs out rather quickly. A fairly useless class and most people take her to finish up their education rather than to learn something.

Dr. West is a nice professor. Her labs are easy since she helps you answer the questions and how to solve them. Her exams are a little difficult, but some questions come from her examples. She curved our first exam; A was 79-100. I got a 67 and it was a B. I really want to take her again next sem, but her class is closed, so I'm taking Vaidya.

I've had Dr. West for a few classes and was surprised to see any negative comments here. She is the most enthusiastic professor in the Physics department and is very straightforward in running the class. If you do the HW & Labs and speak up when confused, you'll do great.

i loved her. the class is difficult, the material is difficult, and her going off on tangents does not help. but shes a sweetheart and if you ever dont understand anything she'll be more than happy to help. the tests are just like the homework problems and the labs are fun. theres a demo almost every class which makes it fun. shes awesome! TAKE HER

Very nice. Gives homework only 3 times in the semester (all of which you hand in on the test day, but you go over them in class with everyone, so if you don't get one, its ok). Labs are fun and interesting. She's not the kind of teacher where you fall asleep in class for sure! If you have to take physics or astronomy, make sure to take her!!

Dr. West is both entertaining and helpful, and very easy to work with for those who can take a friendly insult. As long as you pay attention in class the course is simple, with Dr. West going so far as allowing the class to choose the types of questions based directly on the homework problems.

Makes class just fun and games. No structure whatsoever. Never answers questions, students teach each other the material. Assigns hmwk problems that have nothing to do with the tests. Tests consist of problems pertaining to baseball and football. Overall, if you want to learn nothing and take horrible, tough tests, Dr. West is the person for you.

If you learn well by lecture and stories, this lady is the best. She teaches by telling detailed stories and by giving vivid pictures. She doesn't take attendance, and does not care if you are there or not. Just follow along in the book while she teaches in class and you will do FINE! Also, no extra work but one paper...She is awesome. Stop whining

I think she's funny. She's a cute lady. She makes stupid jokes and they're adorable. She teaches like she's telling a story. I can't imagine why there are so many bad comments about her. I've never seen her be mean or unfair once. Are we talking about the same person?
