Comment:

Seriously the best professor I've ever had. Obviously cares about what she teaches and her students. Makes the content less awkward by making sex jokes and I've never laughed so much in a class. Genuinely a wonderful person and goes above and beyond to ensure her students do well. Lots of work, but it's all interesting and she makes it fun!

She is one of the most interesting lecturer's that I've had at the University and she really cares about your success in her class, at the university, and with your career goals. She provides a lot of opportunities to boost your grade. Be sure to take advantage of all Activities and make a friend to get notes in case you miss lecture

Comment:

You need to go to class since she doesn't post notes online. Its okay to skip once in a while. Exams were pretty easy, and there are a lot of papers, but they're short and easy. Lots of reading, but it is interesting stuff! Lecture goes both ways. Sometimes I can't stay awake and other times I'm really engaged. No laptop to take notes.

Attendance is basically mandatory since she doesn't post notes online and she does not allow laptops/cell phones due to the nature of the material. Only in person hand ins. Extremely clear cut syllabus and instructions on assignments, etc. VERY stern on her rules. Interesting class and a good lecturer. Make sure you get the book!

I took this class because it got such great reviews here but I HATED this class. It was boring and you had to go to class to take the notes because they aren't put online. You also can't use your computer to take notes which I hated. The grade is 2 exams and 2 summaries of all the text book readings which take forever. I regret taking this class

This was an AMAZING class. You need to attend lecture to get the material, but you definitely do not need the textbook to get an A. She makes the material fun and interesting, and the exams are fair. You do need the reader for writing the summaries, but the summaries are an easy grade booster. Highly recommend!

I LOVED this class. Marysol is by far the best professor I've had at UConn. The class is very interesting, and VERY entertaining. She requires 2 books (a reader for summaries and a textbook), while the reader is mandatory for summaries, I did not buy the textbook and I have an A. Attendance is important as the material is not online.

She's one of the best professors I've ever had. The class was extremely interesting, even though there was a lot of articles to read she still made the class fun, fair, and clear. She is a fair grader and truly passionate about teaching. I would recommend taking a course with her!

Great professor, very passionate. Must read, must attend class, no electronics allowed and her slides aren't posted on the web. 3 equal tests and 3 sets of article reviews that boost your test grade by 5 points. Easy if you put in a shred of effort and go to class.

Comment:

Best professor I have ever had. Passionate, open-minded, well versed, likable, charismatic, and genuinely interested in your point of view, even in the event that it conflicts with an idea she is presenting. Outstanding person and professor. I have been guilty of skipping classes for other courses, but have never wanted to miss one of hers.

Her human sexualities class was AMAZING. I learned more practical information in the 14 weeks I had her class than my entire academic career. She really knows her stuff, is comical and has extremely interesting stories. I would retake the class again thats how much I enjoyed it. Studying is a piece of cake too because the materials so interesting

Teaches a very relaxed/casual class. Lectures get off track, but there is open discussion. Quizzes are simple if you get the main ideas of readings. Group paper is kind of annoying, but she seems to grade it easily. Writing assignments are probably the toughest part. You probably won't learn anything new if you already know health disparities
