Comment:

Professor Nakamura is very sweet and is genuinely interested in his students' learning. He is quiet and has a heavy accent which means you have to really listen to what he says. But I don't think either of those take away from the subject which is very interesting and diverse. I would definitely take this course again.

Completely useless prof. The course itself and his exams are easy enough. Take this course if you want an easy workload, but NOT if you want to learn anything of use or relevant. Nakamura does not even attempt to make his lectures interesting whatsoever, and his notes are a huge, all-over the place mess. Lame prof, does not inspire.

I have absolutely no clue what he is talking about. He tries to speak English, but it sounds more like it is Japanese. He is a nice guy, but it is impossible to understand him. Going to class and skipping makes no difference.

Given the choices in 4th year between this and the other 3 options, this class turned out to be quite interesting without a massive workload. Don't be fooled about the previous Japan comments, he has 'diversified' his content. Get a good group and you'll be just fine - not a stressful course and very nice prof.

nice guy but way too disorganized....class has no real structure and the notes are all over the place. Could be a great class, but is sadly just a dumbed down compilation of everything already learned in your degree. Dont take it.
