I had a really hard time with this class, I thought that lecture was really hard to follow and take notes, sometimes he was all over the place! I tried to get extra help from him but had a hard time even then because there was only one way for him to teach what I was trying to learn and I couldn't put it into my own words to help myself understand

Professor Aoki cares about his students and is very accessible outside of class. He will meet with you as many times as you need to go over an essay outline with you. His lectures are interesting and he is funny. He is called "Masato" by all students who know him well.

Masato is tough but you will learn how to write. And here's the thing, whether you disagree or don't fully understand immediately (he's smart and sometimes hard to keep up with) he's incredible and cares SO much. He inspired me to change my entire course of study. He's a dad at heart, he's funny and engaging and he wants to know his students.

The class was "Economics for Dummies". Basic Economics served with lots of informal chit chat about fast food and mainstream TV. No Piketty, but lots of macaroni and cheese. Prof. Aoki is a blend of nice and rude. Can be difficult to access outside of class. He seems to take absences personally.

He's a good guy who cares about his students. He'll give you advice on your life without even asking for it. Wouldn't take his class again because of a lack of clarity in assignments and sometimes difficult to follow lectures. He gives harsh feedback, but you'll get a good grade if you put in the effort. Pulls off double denim and leather. like wow

We re-wrote many assignments because his prompts were usually not clear... Fell asleep a couple of times. Movie days were the best. Economics is not the most exciting point of view but he really tries to cover a lot. Brought us lots of candy! Participation is important.

Not recommended for MCC. It's really boring. Grade is determined by three papers based on your personal experience. Readings in class has nothing to do with papers therefore it is a waste of your time doing homework. He knows what he's doing. I think he is only best for an economics class. NEVER FOR MCC. Worst class on my schedule. Waste of my time

Aoki's amazing! His tests aren't that hard just make sure to take notes in class since that's what you really need to do well. He explains things in different ways to make sure you understand the material and he's always opened to questions. There's a few papers in his class but they're not too bad! Take his class, I highly recommend it!

I actually really enjoy his class, though he digresses frequently. His assignments are hard, but he is understanding and is flexible. Such a funny and interesting teacher to get to know. Makes the corniest jokes... The kind fathers make. :p

I agree with the previous comment that he uses his own vocabulary and makes things harder than the seem. I found that re-writing my notes in my own words helped A LOT. He is not a hard teacher, the test is a carbon copy of the study guide, pretty straight forward.

I thought he was great. Unlike a lot of professors, it's clear that he is passionate about his work. His lectures can be a little heavy on material, but he's good at holding your attention. Definitely got my money's worth in this class.

WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!! he is so enthusiastic, sarcastic. my kind of person. He dresses well and he's so thoughtful and articulate and it's just a great experience. His short comings: when you go to get help on a paper, he tends to talk too much and you have to make him focus.
