Mr Shelton is a really great teacher. He explains it clearly and always asks if anyone has questions after explaining a new topic. He makes jokes and tries to keep everyone comfortable.

Comment:

Best math professor I have ever had, bar none. Explains things very well in a way that makes it click. Always willing to answer questions and kept class entertaining with jokes or short stories here and there. I never enjoyed math before, but I actually looked forward to his class.

Initially, the tests and assignments are super clear. He allows you to work at your own pace and if you have any questions or trouble, he makes himself available. Super helpful and very understanding.

Works homework problems as examples in class, homework work load isnt too heavy just dont fall behind and youll do well. Very knowledgeable and makes math easy to learn. Would recommend for anyone taking Cal 1 & 2.

It is all graded by the HW and Test on MyMathLab. HW is 20% of grade, Quizzes are 60%, and Final is 20%. I got a B but only because I hired a tutor. Very challenging curriculum but that isn't the professors fault.

Comment:

Shelton makes hard topics easy to understand. He is sarcastic, makes jokes that aren't always funny, but nonetheless is an amazing professor. He will help you with anything and he makes easy to understand videos over all of the homework. His tests are all questions directly from the homework that he goes over in class.

Great professor. Really explains concepts well. If you take his mini-mester courses, of course be prepared to go over large amounts of information per week. Exams are not too difficult, as his reviews essentially mirror the exact type of problems to be found on the exam (just with different numbers in front of the variables/different exponents).

Comment:

The class I had him in was intentionally very fast paced and it was very difficult to soak in information since we jumped from one topic to the next in a flash. Most people dropped. I don't believe this is his fault and is more of a flaw in the system of that class. Seems to explain everything well, grades a little hard, but cool guy nonetheless.

Professor Shelton is a pretty cool guy, but the class itself has so much information and studying involved. He does try to make it as easy as possible by taking exact problems from the homework and putting them on the tests. He also goes over almost every homework question during class. Fortunately does not make you read the info from the textbook.

The textbook is available through MyMathLab, but I was unaware that this is, essentially, a self-taught course. There are videos for each chapter, however they are only 5-8 minutes long and don't cover everything in the chapter. This class took much more time than I was prepared for. Professor responds to emails in a timely manner.

I love this professor! Step-by-step notes are basically the homework problems! He gives you reviews to work on before the tests, MAKE SURE YOU DO THE REVIEWS! Tests are 99% exact format as the reviews, the only thing would change is the numbers. Just study the way how to do the problems on your notes and reviews, you'll get an A.

Took BusCal with Mr. Shelton. This class was kind of difficult for me but I ended up keeping my B. He gives you a review for each of the tests & most of the problems on there are on the tests but not exactly the same. He gives you an option to correct your second lowest test grade to earn credit since he drops the lowest test grade automatically.

Business Calculus with Shelton online was difficult, but totally doable. I don't think I would have passed, never mind getting a B in this level of a math class. Would definitely recommend him, he certainly gives you the tools to succeed.

He is a great professor, especially for online students. He gives you at least one make-up on any of the exams to help improve you grade! There is A LOT of work, mostly because it was a summer course, but if you are a dedicated student, you can do it!

I took BusCal online with Shelton. There was alottt of work, but the quiz problems are exactly like the homework problems, and the final's questions come from the quizzes. Take good step-by-step notes and you'll do well.

I couldn't have chosen a better math teacher than him. He explains everything in a clear way and if you didn't understand something he will reexplain it until you get it. Tests are very short and easy. If you're not a math person, I recommend for you to do all your homework; that could make the difference in your final grade.

WONDERFUL professor! He explains things in a way that allows even the most math dense people to get it. He keeps the class fun and interesting with a wonderful sense of humor. He is very personable and always there to answer questions, he really tries to teach different ways so everyone can learn. BEST MATH PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD!!!

AWESOME instructor-- as someone who isn't a math person at all, I've never had an easier time in a math class. Knows just how to explain things for people that don't "get" math. Puts class notes online for studying/absences and puts practice tests online that are very, very similar to the actual test so you know just what to study for. Recommended!

Best College Math Teacher I've had yet. Explains everything in class and sets up good notes for his students to use. He doesn't try to trick you on the tests and will let you know ahead of time exactly what will be on them. Very personable. If you do the work you will get an A.
