I love Dr. P!! She is the best ever, and this class is an easy A as long as you show up and try. The music isn't that hard, but the more the semester goes on the more challenging it gets.

The music used in this class is definitely not challenging, which was incredibly disappointing. I prefer music that you need to practice at home to learn. I memorized the music on the first day. I was bored. But overall she is a fun professor that makes class entertaining. If you love music, you will enjoy Dr. P!

This class I really enjoyed at the beginning, and I love Dr. P... as a person. She isn't strict enough when it comes to learning music. I feel like we are never ready for our concerts. It doesn't help that most people in this choir don't really care about it. I've started to regret taking this class. Just not my cup of tea anymore.

Treble Choir was so fun, she's a great teacher who actually gives really good tips to help you improve your voice. I hadn't sung like that since high school and I missed it so much. Loved most of the song choices, and the concerts/performances were fun. Could only take it for 1 semester though because I'm not a music major.

She's always so cheery, always positive and always up to help her students. I love Treble Choir and find that it is an outlet for me to let go, have fun and create beautiful sounds with some amazing girls. Would highly recommend for anyone who likes a great class and a great teacher!

Love Dr. P, hate the music selection (for the most part). Not all of it is so bad, just the "holiday" pieces. Definitely take Treble Choir if you are interested, though. There shouldn't be any hesitation! I have really enjoyed it. The only negative thing is the walk to Broyhill for a non music major. Once you're in the classroom, you get over that.

Very nice teacher...she's a little flighty at times, but she means well. The class...isn't exactly what I expected. Everyone can join, and being from a choir background myself it's a little difficult not to be at all frustrated with the easy material. But Porterfield is very sweet!

Treble Choir was great. Dr. Porterfield is a vibrant, energetic teacher with a personality that will encourage you and make you laugh. She is very caring and will help you if you need to miss a class or can't get a note quite right. So much fun to be around. :) The only complaint is, she is a little scattered sometimes, but it's choir; it works!

dr. p is awesome! music selection could be a lil better but i loved some of the songs we did. she loves music and shes very happy and very cute. loved treble choir. we had an amazing group and it was so fun. i would recommend it to a music major or just a class for fun. easy A and you get to sing! what more could you want!! :D

There is a reason Treble choir has a notorious reputation for being called the "terrible choir," and that is due to her music selection and teaching style. Don't get me wrong...I liked her well enough, I just didn't think she really challenged any of the girls in choir. Music selection was poor to okay; at least it's an easy grade.
