only take this prof if you're willing to use his advice. he's a great artist and knows his stuff, but can be very harsh. his assignments are creative and require you to put your heart into it. if you're going to miss a class, make sure to call or e-mail him, he takes absences personally. a wonderful prof if you want to develope as an artist.

I had Matthew for Drawing 1, 2 and Painting class(es). He is a very difficult instructor and takes absences personally BUT it's work the extra work. I learned a lot from him and would recommend him over Gina Dominique for studio courses.

I had Matthew for Drawing I. Although he required WAY more homework than I would have ever expectd from a drawing class I learned some very important techniques and "rules" of drawing. He held us all in high expectation but I think this only made me grow further in my artistic abilities.

I've always really liked taking Matthew, his assignments encourage creativity and his teaching style makes you feel like you're creating real-life art... but BEWARE, Matthew is very picky, you'll have to put time into this class... a lot of time...

He's a cool teacher. He grades very tough but if you do the work then you'll get a good grade out the class. You can be the worst drawer and still get at least a B. He's COOL. Yahoo for MATTHEW!!!
