If you want an easy A - this is your guy. You won't learn much but as long as you do the assignments (around 10 of them the whole semester) you will be fine. Mostly self taught since in class he doesn't teach much. Very well respected, funny, and likable guy but really you won't learn anything from his class.

I loved Matt he is really funny and easy to talk to. If you are ever having any trouble he will stay and help you until it's fixed. The only thing is he gets off track a lot with stories and stuff so it's hard to keep him focused. My advice, if you have something to do after class don't stay after to get help from Matt cause it won't be quick.

Matt is an excellent teacher, I had him for web design as well. Did a great job with this class, especially with it being the first semester it's been offered. I learned a lot about mobile apps, though it's a bit difficult if you haven't worked in C though.

Had trouble staying awake... but a class on servers is going to be boring by nature, so when I say the class was really boring, it's not a knock on Matt. He's still the man. You can even get all your homework done in class if you have a laptop/internet and not have to do any real "home" work!

Matt is a really nice guy. But this class is unbearably BORING. I can barely keep my eyes open on the days I attend class. It doesnt make sense to have this class not in a lab. The only way to learn is hands on experience, making actual class time pretty useless. Matt does brag about being rich a lot, but he is nice/helpful so I can tolerate it.

Horrible class. All we did was listen to him yap about airplanes and motorcycles. It is not teaching to have someone sit at a computer at the front of the class doing their homework while the rest of us watched. Easy A, but very boring class. Skip as many as possible

Easy fun, helpful and awesome. This class is extremely easy. Matt is an awesome teacher that tries to make class fun and usually lets you out early! You don't even need the book. As long as you do the HOPS, pay attention in class, study the studyguides/do good on the tests, you might not even have to take the final! If you have an A he excuses you.

matt onyon is awesome. not only does he also understand that a cs 101 class is a little pointless, but hes funny, cool, and always lets the class out early. he definitely knows his stuff and tells great stories. i HIGHLY recomend him for any class.

Don't buy the book its a waste of $70... you dont even need to go to class .. just do the 6 HOPS and study for your two exams which he gives u a study guide and thats basically the exam.. so as long as u do the HOPS and look over the study guide once before the test you will get an easy A
