Teacher Just seems not to care about anything but people listening to his rambling. He actually stopped me in class because I was working on Chinese homework instead of him rambling on about stuff that was not even on the test

Sims is by far the best professor I've ever had. He encourages discussion and asks questions of the class to spur critical thinking about the subject matter. His lectures on literature are my favorite.

Not a boring class. No attendance policy means you better be in class or you will fail. Tests are easy if you study and participate. He's passionate about his class and funny in a rather awkward way but its what makes his class fun. Be in class even when its boring because you actually do learn a lot when you apply yourself and speak up in class.

Great prof and really knows his stuff. His tests are fair and over the assigned readings and class discussions, so even though he doesn't have an attnd policy you need to be there to pass. His frustration (and mine) comes from all those yahoos who don't read or bring what they need to class - I agree with him when he tells them don't bother coming

Sims class was really interesting and he was a great prof! The 3 tests were pretty easy and all came from the notes so you had to go to class. He is really good at getting the class to think critically about the material and discuss controversial topics. I really enjoyed the class!

Sims is a great guy. His strong point is definitely philosophy. He stresses concepts more than facts so if you expect him to know a lot about history, you'll be disappointed. He makes up for it with his thoughts about the concepts, though. His tests are different for each class - he tests you on what your class discussions are about. I liked that.

His lack of spiritual understanding is shocking for a Christian University. I was appauled,at his reading of Egyptian curses in class, for educational reasons.I met with him in his office to dicuss my feelings about how he was requireing us to approach the subject, and he basicly called me a fanatic. It is the only D that I recieved while at Lee...

He is fair and flexible with no attendance policy. He's a big fan of phillosophy so expect to talk about it a lot. Mostly I really enjoyed the class. He isn't the most exciting lecturer, but he does present the material in an interesting way. He cares about what he is doing.

Dr. Sims is great. He presents the material well and is interesting. However, he teaches required courses, meaning a bunch of bums usually show up in his classes and drag it down because they don't give him a chance and don't do the work. You've got to keep up with the reading to do well, as you should. I learned a ton!

I absolutely do not like this prof. whatsoever. His class puts me to sleep all the time. Is not ever really prepared and is always stubbling through his lectures. Makes tests harder then they actually are. Reading amount is fine, but there is no study guide or anything. I would highly recommend a different prof. for this course!

Sims is a great professor-- probably my favorite on campus. He is so helpful an passionate about what he does. He genuinely cares about your opinion. He is very intelligent but is not afraid to admit when he doesn't know something. His tests are pretty challenging but he grades fairly. And yes, he does have great eyes ;)

I loved the class. I am a bit nerdy but the material was very interesting and the way that it was presented made it even more so. You can tell Dr. Sims is passionate about his work and really wants you to take something more than just a grade away from the class.

He is my favorite professor here at Lee. I have taken him a couple of times, his classes are challenging, and his tests are very challenging, but the class is very interesting and rewarding. He kept things interesting and the lectures were good. The only thing is the tests are hard, but this class is worth it.
