He was a fantastic professor. I took a course with him in grad school, and he was then part of my doctoral dissertation committee. He opened my eyes to and helped me develop my theories involving linguistic change in the morpho-syntacic structure of the Romance languages.

This dude is awesome. If you aren't a good student already, are simply minoring in Spanish so it looks good on resumes, or suck at spanish and still speak like a gringo, you may not like him, but as someone who is fluent in Spanish he is awesome, you do have to study, but it was two easy As for me, and I would take a class with him again.

The worst teacher I have had in my entire life... I had him last semester and he was absolutely horrible. He is so unhelpful it's ridiculous, even if you want to learn!!

I Loved his classes. I took like 5 courses with him. You have to be interested in linguistics to appreciate the class. He motivates students to think!!! If you are serious about learning, take him! If not, forget about him. Great learning experiences.

The problem with this course is many students have no background or interest in dialectology. They ruin the course. Otherwise the material is very interesting and the prof. gives the students flexibility to explore their own interests in Peninsular dialectology.

NOT A GOOD ADVISOR! Told me that he only remembers people if they wow him in class....sorry if I'm not the best in the department. He's also extremely boring as a teacher and his classes can be considered a form of slow torture.

I had to drop this; the W was worth not getting an F. He's insanely boring, doesn't explain anything and lets students lead the class. He's also a worthless adviser.
