Okay for students that can understand by themselves, horrible for those who need deep explanations. Differential Equations is some HEAVY material, but he does not explain too much. However you can just ask him to explain and he will. I would say work hard home and dont rely on him explaining everything clearly. Would still recommend

A lot of these comments say he's not personable. But if you put in the effort to joke around with him, he becomes even more of a chill dude. He does have a heavy accent, but I sit in the front of the class every meeting, so it helps a lot. He also explains everything very well and he seems like he really enjoys teaching. HIGHLY recommend.

Don't expect to get to know the guy. Not very personable. On the other hand, he's all business when it comes to getting through and solidifying the curriculum for the class. He's quick, quiet, and somewhat hard to understand, but like any good professor, he establishes the pattern for the problems. His tests and quizzes are pretty reasonable, too.

He's a very nice guy but he is not the best teacher. He goes through material fast and sometimes doesn't understand students' questions. He mumbles a lot. Gives a quiz every week or so, but they are straightforward and he always reviews for them. Assigns homework but doesn't check or go over it. I'd only take him if you were confident in basic math

I'm a Lit major so I was looking for a good teacher to help me through this class. Honestly, I taught myself plenty of times. He goes very fast, is awkward, and has no connection with the class. Lots of quizzes, two major tests and a final. Changed his grading at the end which was hurtful to those like myself who were doing well.

He goes kind of fast and makes no real connection with the class, but he knows what he is talking about and really tries to make it understandable. i would take him again if i had to take another math class

Hard to understand. Had no idea what was going on class. Poor teaching style. Talks fast. The reason I took him was because of his reviews, however, after taking him... would not recommend.

Has an accent so it's a bit hard to understand him. Almost a quiz every week. You never had to go to class b/c the book probably could teach you better. Go for the quizzes though b/c he wont let you make them up unless it is an emergency. People left early all the time and he never said anything. Tip:sit in the back of the class! Nice guy though.

...pretty sure i got a b, and i missed a bunch of classes, two quizzes (he drops the lowest two quiz grades), but i at least went over the stuff for quizzes by myself. you really need minimal dedication for this class. also no experiential requirement. and he helps you and can work around your schedule, not that i ever got extra help...TAKE.

math for the modern world, definitely take him! math is my WORST subject as in worst as in hatehatehate why even try. he doesnt take attendance or check homework, is a lenient grader on quizzes (which there are about 7 of) 2 exams (he tells you whats on it) and a final (you can bring a full sheet of notes). the semester isnt over yet, but im pretty

No idea if he's still teaching at Ramapo or not, but he was definitely a real asset to the department. Not an easy A, but if you're interested in the subject and actually want to learn something, take his class! Really cool guy too.

Its hard to understand him. He talks fast and has an accent. Also, he has no personality. U have a quiz almost every week and he drops your lowest 3. There are 3 exams including the final. Attendance is not mandatory at all. Its pointless going to class because u can just read the textbook and get a better understanding of the material

goldberg is a great professor. attendance to his class isn't mandatory. his quizzes are exactly like problems done in class and he drops the three like lowest grades. i didn't even have to use a textbook. take notes and you'll be fine. definitely take goldberg.

Good professor to get your gen ed over with, not if you want to pursue math. I'm a psych major and had to take prob&stat for my math req, and i did horribly in the class, and probably should have failed, but goldberg gave me a C-, and everyone else I know got a higher grade than they felt they deserved.

Dr. Goldberg made Calculus I easy to understand and follow. He was very helpful in lecture and his office hours. His lecture notes are detailed and organized. HW is tough, but exams and quizzes are similar to it. Solution Manual was helpful and assignments are tricky at times. Great guy and friend. A+ for quality and professionalism. Got a B.

He's a very nice guy, and he tries to be helpful. The problem arises when he starts mumbling to himself after the first couple of minutes doing a problem and loses the class right from the start. Read the textbook and you'll learn more than you'll learn in class. The tests and quizzes are easy once you teach yourself the material; fair grader

this class is def worth taking with max goldberg. you take a quiz every week but he drops the 3 lowest and the quizzes are each about 3 to 5 questions at the most. def never took attendance either, and some of the crazy stuff he said gave me and my friends a few good laughs
